listen.tui's Issues

Terminal Performance Issues

Currently, the terminal captures the entire history as a list of Segments which then gets cut, thats how the scrolling works.

However, if the history is too big (around 100+ lines from what i've tested on my machine) the refresh rate per second drops drastically
I've tried caching it, but that would break any live objects such as query indication and progress bar (for the download (WIP) command)

You can try it by running history -c 50 twice.

The function resposible for creating the terminal history.

The current solutions that I know of are:

  • Use the reset command when it gets too laggy.
  • Port the entire project over to Textualise, this would most likely resolve the issue, however thats alot of work.
