Testing client_side_validations gem with Devise without Simple Form

  • New App generated by my template.rb (github.com/KudosX/template.rb):
  • Ruby 2.3.1
  • Rails 5.0.0.rc1

Step 1:

  • rails g client_side_validations:install
  • rails g client_side_validations:copy_assets
  • add to javascripts/application.js //= require rails.validations
  • uncomment code in initializer file
  • add validate: true to view pages where you want inline validation
  • rails g devise:controllers users
  • in users controller add:
 def user_params
      params.require(:user).permit(:username, :email, :password, :password_confirmation)
    end
