azure-devops-extension-url-field's Issues

URL opening in sandbox'd document due to iframe.

In Chrome, when (left) clicking the URL generated by another field, a new tab is be opened in "sandbox" mode which prevents cookies and other resources from correctly loading.

Middle clicking (open in new tab) works.

Using: Google Chrome Version 108.0.5359.99 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Whitespace below the URL

Hi,

When adding the URL field there is always a lot of whitespace reserved below the url that is part of the control and pushes all the rest down.

I think it is cause by the iframe and it's 100% height.

Add multiple fields with per-project configuration

Hi there,

Thanks for creating this extension, it's great to increase accessibility for some of the information we may want to include in custom work item types.
How possible would it be to add the following features in it?

  • Add two additional fields to construct the final URL (either actual DevOps fields or custom strings)
  • Make the configuration available per-project instead of per-organization

Let me know and thanks in advance!

António

Add generated URL as a column

I would like to add clickable URLs as a column to list views (like backlog, queries, work items, etc.). Currently, the generated field is not shown in the column options.

I don't know, whether this is a limitation by DevOps and can't be implemented.

Enhancement: Multiple fields

Hi:

I really love this extension. It has been so helpful for the team to get to the website that is required.

It would be very helpful to have more than one field as a variable. Currently we have several projects and they have their own non-production environments, so it will be very helpful to have two variables to reference for.

Two custom controls in the same board, only one working

First of all, thank you for dedicating your time for this extension. It's awesome.

I want to share with you a potential optimization.
I've accidentally used the placeholder {value} instead of {field} when configuring your custom control.
When this happens, it lets you continue but when the URL is rendered and the user clicks on it, it takes them to this link:
https://krypu.gallerycdn.vsassets.io/extensions/krypu/url-field/1.1.1/1620045568627/%7Bvalue%7D

And when the user clicks on the link, they are taken here:

My suggestion is to update the link so it takes you to an error page.
Thank you!

If Dynamic URL and field is empty

The extension is exactly what I was looking for, only small tweak would be:

Using scenario 2 "A dynamic URL that combines a static base URL with some parameters taken from an other field", if the field being used for building the URL is empty/blank, it would be nice if no URL was generated. Or an option to make it not generator if field is empty.
