knoda-web's Issues

Usability bugs on avatar & login

Knoda Notes

Browser: Chrome(33.0.1750.117 m):
OS: Windows 8.1

-When clicking the "Choose File" button on page /users/me/avatar the file chooser dialog that opens has the File Type filter set to "Custom Files" which causes image file types to not be displayed. The user must switch to "All Files" before they can see images. (Recc: This just looks like a simple JavaScript issue, just need to update the script to only allow the typical file types)

-When you fail to login, the validation message is shown. Subsequent attempts to login result in the same validation message but because it's happening so fast the user never sees a flash or indication of processing to reassure the user that the input was received and processed successfully. (Recc: Hide the notification with a short animation and show it again with the same animation in reverse.)

Let me know if you need any help with anything, I'm a programmer and I know quite a few languages.

Thanks,

Patrick Mallahan

Agree/Disagree bug on comments

Just noticed this today. So, if I voted on a prediction and there are comments for that prediction. The agree/disagree icon for each commentor will mirror whatever vote I made. So if I voted agree, then it will show all commentors as agreeing. Same for if I disagreed.

Loading icon showing when it doesn't need to

This is almost exclusively when I click on a prediction from the Activity page so I see the individual page and try to scroll down to see more comments, I get the loading icon. And it will take a few seconds but not actually scroll down at all.

Redo BS Logic

2 Items:

  1. Change the threshhold from 25% to 10%
  2. Only allow the creator to flip it if no one else has called BS.

Implement some web caching

Things I could possible cache:

A list of comments for a prediction
The tally for a prediction
A users stats - invalidate when they a prediction that affects them closes
