Launcher3 - Gradle

This repo contains an up-to-date Launcher3, with all the goodies Google added in Marshmallow. I converted it to build with gradle so it is easy to manage. All other credit goes to the Google Team.

Feel free to fork and use this as a base project for any launchers you might want to make in the future. I will try to keep it up with the latest changes from Google.

$ git remote add upstream https://android.googlesource.com/platform/packages/apps/Launcher3
$ git fetch upstream
$ git checkout master
$ git merge upstream/master

launcher3's Issues

Remove Hotseat

I want to remove hotseat (app dock) in homescreen view, i was trying to edit launcher.xml, launcher.java, hotseat.xml, hotseat.java, but nothing changed. do u have any idea ??

Error Installing APK

I am getting error "Session 'app': Error Installing APK

"
I have tried to install it on emulators and Xiaomi Mi 4i (OS: 5.0.2)

Latest Changes from Google

Any intention to update this source code to include the latest changes from Google?

Looks like it has been a year since it was updated - curious if this is still an active project or if there is something else more updated that has forked off from this.

can anyone help me how can i add default widget on my home screen.

Merge nougat-mr1-release from upstream

Google released the sources for Launcher3 Nougat MR1 (Android 7.1): https://android.googlesource.com/platform/packages/apps/Launcher3/+/nougat-mr1-release

From the commits, it seems to be most things included with the Pixel launcher:

New all apps drawer UI
New folders
Shortcut support
Something about support for a light status bar, if your launcher is using a light background
Tons more it seems

I am not sure what this does with the search bar yet (if it goes to the Google "Pill" or not).

The merge was pretty extensive it seemed like, so it may take awhile to get it all done.
