callrecorder-axet's Introduction

Call Recorder - Axet

As of 16 Aug 2023, I am archiving this repository, as I no longer use Axet's Call Recorder, but moved to BCR instead. It is better suited for devices above Android 9, you can find it here.

Android 11 or newer? Try this version instead!

This is a module that fixes recording for both sides for Axet's Call Recorder. It currently installs version 1.7.13 as a system app in /system/priv-app and inserts necessary permissions in /etc/permissions to allow CAPTURE_AUDIO_OUTPUT for the app.

It requires API greater or equal to 19 (Android KitKat) in order to make use of the priv-app folder.

The module installs the app normally then moves it to priv-app so it becomes a system app.

How to use it

Just like you used the normal app, but it works as expected now.

Future updates

  • Download the APK from a repo, such as F-Droid's, to prevent embedding it into the module.

callrecorder-axet's Issues

android 11

It works great, but after many calls (for example, from 10 to more), it no longer records calls.
Please check and correct it

Installation instructions

How is this installed exactly? Is not clear whether it needs to be a clean install or if the old Axet's needs to be uninstalled after installing this.
Should I install Axet's apk (or zip file via Magisk) and then install your zip file via Magisk?
I uninstalled Magisk's Axet and apk from https://github.com/di72nn/callrecorder-axet/releases and then installed this one from Magisk, but there is no UI app.

Android 11 MIUI 12.5 and crDroid

First, thanks for this module.

I have 2 issues:

  1. The 1st call after re-boot of the phone is not recorded. I tried to wait several minuted before making the call but it didn't help.

  2. File name of a recording is not according to the "Name format" (from settings):
    I chose custom: %s %i %p-%c
and the filename was yyyy-mm-dd hh.mm.ss -.ogg
I also tried the 3rd option on the Name format (%T %p) and the 4th

In all cases the file name only had the time stamp part.

In all cases, the calls were incoming because it's a pre-paid w/o remaining balance.
I tried the 1.7.13 and 1.7.14 apk from f-droid.
Same issue on both.

Also, the phone is Xiaomi redmi note 9T global with miui 12.5
Edit:
This is the case also with crDroid custom rom.
