The Online Bus Ticket Booking System is a web application that allows users to search for and book bus tickets online. It provides a convenient platform for users to browse available bus routes, select seats, and make reservations from the comfort of their homes.

Getting Started

To get started with the Online Bus Ticket Booking System, follow the instructions below:

Prerequisites

  • Node.js and npm (Node Package Manager) should be installed on your system.
  • MongoDB or a compatible database should be installed and running.

Installation

  1. Clone the repository:

Configuration

  1. Set up the database:
  • Create a new MongoDB database.
  • Update the database connection URL in the configuration file (config.js or config.json) with your database details.

  • Sign up for a Stripe account or any other payment gateway service.
  • Update the payment gateway API keys in the configuration file (config.js or config.json) with your API keys.

Usage

  1. Start the server:

  2. Open a web browser and visit http://localhost:3000 to access the application.

  3. Register a new user account or log in with an existing account.

  4. Use the search functionality to find bus routes based on origin and destination.

  5. Select a suitable bus schedule and view seat availability.

  6. Choose seats and proceed to make a reservation.

  7. Complete the payment process using the integrated payment gateway.

  8. After successful booking, the user will receive a confirmation with the ticket details.

  9. Users can view and manage their booking history from their account dashboard.
