If the game window is off the desktop vertically, the cursor doesn't line up on the battle grid properly. to test this, set the window resolution as larger than the screen resolution, launch the game and enter a battle. The cursor location and the highlighted grid cell does not line up.

An example resolution:

Using a PC with a resolution 1920x1080, launch the game with a resolution of 1600x1200. When launched directly from VS, the top hundred or so pixels of the game window will be off the top edge of the desktop.
