I would like to document the process and structure of developing an addon, so I can learn and share this information in a how to guide. The perspective it would be written from is beginner. I have done a fair bit research and could not find any information I could understand as a layman.

I’m new to programming in python and github, and would like a mentor who is experienced in home automation with home assistant. My background is in mechanical engineering, and with experience in programming from 25 years ago.

You would lead this effort, I’m just the idea guy at this point. The overall goal to make this more accessible to beginners.
