Running CloudFormation like described in part-two gives me this error:
AWS::EC2::Instance EC2Instance API: ec2:RunInstances Not authorized for images: [ami-25865252]

Changing the ImageId to ami-20bd1f57 fixed this for me.

There is not enough pure bash in this repository. devOps-101 should be about shell scripting your way to snowflakes, not automating AWS environments. The only way to learn is to make a mess, get told off by your mother and then clean it up with a dirty cloth.

Also, your jokes are pastiche.

Running CloudFormation with template-two.json gives me this error:

CREATE_FAILED AWS::EC2::EIP EIP You must specify an allocation id when mapping an address to a VPC instance

From reading the documentation for AWS::EC2::EIP I feel like we need a Domain-property for the EIP.

Configuring it like this worked for me:
