This is just a dummy issue to for some screenshots in the README.md. :) See solutionoptimist.com for details.

It is really nice to see that there seems to be some life again in this project and i was quite happy, that the plugin extended the support even for skypeweb :)

But i just found out that the plugin dont seem to get all of the birthdays of my skypeweb buddies, only about 20% of them or so ..even if it can show the birthday date in pidgin (over the info page).

After I updated the birthday reminder from version 1.7 to 1.9, I cannot activate the plug-in. I use pidgin 2.10.11 under Ubuntu 15.10. Is this an error or is this my mistake.

I'd like to ask you if you could ship a small xml file that contains AppStream metadata. It's a distro-agnostic format for AppStore-like catalogs for Linux distributions: http://www.freedesktop.org/software/appstream/docs/sect-Quickstart-Addons.html
AppStream-based catalogs are currently included in all major Linux distributions: Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, Arch,...
If the xml file is copied to %{datadir}/appdata/ (typically /usr/share/appdata) the plugin appears in the profile of the app (Pidgin) and is easily discoverable and installable for users.
