Great idea!

I can't believe that this is the only external solution that I've found that will keep an external loadbalancer updated through the kubernetes API. (although it's old and most likely doesn't work anymore, but good for inspiration).

There must be a million companies out there that has some k8s services running that they need to access, but are not willing to pay the hourly fee of a cloud provided loadbalancer, plus the added data transfer cost. With this solution, you can spin up a cheap instance and enjoy free internal data transfer to and from k8s through the loadbalancer.

Personally on AWS, but this should be true for GCP and Azure as well.

Am I missing something?

It seems that the JSON format for status has been changed, and motorboat complains for umarsheling []main.Backend.
