• Changing options works fine one at a time (i.e. leaving and returning to the settings panel).
• Users must leave the settings entirely and return to main panel for each option they change to have them reflect.
• The variables themselves are writing to file and so there is some issue with internally setting new values on the fly.
• The functions BOTH re-source and set the variables so I am confused on the issue.
• Probably an issue with how frequently I nest functions, and the resulting internal loops? For the settings panels these are written "minimally" to be contained in one function loop each, but are rickety to the point of idiotic even compared to the rest of the program.
• Equally affects both option switching panels and does not affect either keybind panels whatsoever.

Possible solutions

• Distribute settings adjustment across functions. Sacrifices concision for functionality (always acceptable).
• Reorder when variables are set and functions are sourced.
