の訳ですが、anonymous functions（無名関数）や pretty syntax（簡単な構文）、not making ? （?を作らなくて済むこと）を We don't want to sacrifice（犠牲にしたくない）なので、

匿名関数や簡単な構文を犠牲にしたくありませんし、AbstractFactoryFactoryImpls なんてものを作りたくもありません。

みたいなニュアンスになるような気がします。

また、

and using a language that’s very familiar, yet very different, can teach us a lot.

も、「馴染みがありながら、同時に相違点も多い言語（a language that’s very familiar, yet very different）」を使うことが「学びが多い」といった感じではないかと思うのですが、他の方のご意見も伺いたいところです。

個人的な感覚でしかないのですが、日本発の言語であるにしろ、英語圏でのRubyのドキュメント総量が足りていないとは思えません。

章末の結論で、「Rubyの弱点を強みとする」といったニュアンスの記述があることを考慮すると、ここで挙がっているのは「CrystalにあってRubyにないもの」が該当するようにも思うのですが、Crystalのドキュメント総量が（少なくとも現状のRubyより）充実しているとは思えません。

これも個人的にはですが、 crystal docs コマンドのような組み込みのドキュメント生成の仕組み、もしくはその機能面のことなのかとも思うのですが、RubyにもRDocがあったりします。

この点、どう解釈すべきでしょう？

In chapter 1, the "Documentation" was took as one of the three weak-points of the ruby.

What "Documentation" means in here?

1. total volume of the web sites, the books, or other published technical contents.

2. method to generate documentations of the code(ex: crystal docs for Crystal), or functions of it.

3. anything else
