live-uefi's Issues

Keyboard problem.

Booting in safe settings or non-ACPI mode, returns with a keyboard at a non functional state.

X11 is unstable with the 2016.06 LiveISO on a Celeron N3150 with CherryView graphics

As stated in the subject, the current LiveISO runs into graphics (probably compositing) issues on my W510UL notebook with Intel Celeron N3150 CPU with integrated i915 "CherryView" graphics. This is strange because a laptop with a considerably more recent 6th gen i3/SkyLake CPU/IGP works just fine.

Stability is a little bit better when using the i915.preliminary_hw_support=1 boot parameter but still inacceptable.

I had already observed this with a home-built 4.6.2 kernel used with Ubuntu 14.04 and was hoping that it was due to other software (X11, Mesa) being too old. I'm getting much better results with kernel 4.5.7 .

This is mostly a "FYI" ticket, but if you have suggestions I could try with the (a) LiveISO I'd be happy to.

2015.04 ISO EFI boot in VirtualBox fails to start Xorg server

When booting into EFI in VirtualBox, the 2015.04 ISO in live mode fails to start Xorg server.
When booted using BIOS, it does work.

Here is the Xorg log from EFI boot:

KaOS Installation bug

Before i made this excact issue , but on the wrong page , it was closed so i'll just post it agian.

Hello! I have a problem with KaOS while installing it.

What I do :

Create a Bootable Usb with KaOS 2015.ISO on it , have an 80gb hard disk,

Launch KaOS live , click for installation , select everything properly how i want it , KaOS installation begins, at the end , about 0.5 seconds away from the "creating user" text below the installation bar, an error occurs and it says:

Installation Failed

Boost.Python error in job "Run script userkf5/main.py".

class 'AttributeError'

'Nonetype'object has no attribiute 'group'
Traceback:

File "/usr/lib/calamares/modules/userkf5/main.py" , line 121, in run print (m.group(0)).

I also created a thread on 4chan.org , if you want to see the thread , here is the link!

http://boards.4chan.org/g/thread/47915533/kaos-install-bug

Ofcourse i checked the /userkf5/main.py and it seems to be a Python programming script , i checked line 121 and it's just this line:

print (m.group(0)).

What i tried to do:

Using octopi to install calamares (seems to be some sort of c/c++ compiler) , after i've installed it , the installation won't even begin.
