mountain's Introduction

Disclaimer: all the themes in the repo are currently adherent to the Fuji palette. I’m working on rolling out themes/standards for Hotaka.

What is this?

Mountain is a dark, neutral color scheme. What does that mean? It means that the grayscale is truly on the b/w range, and the rest of the colors aren’t necessarily favoring any singular direction. This makes for a… neutral color palette, like I said in the beginning (I’m not good at writing). Regardless, this color scheme tries to be low-contrast, while maintaining a decent amount of contrast. Note that I’m not a colorologist guy, and just fucked around with some colors on my badly calibrated monitor. You’ve been warned!

I’m in the process of changing the design parameters - thank you for your patience!

Fat acknowledgement thingie

NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT MADE FROM SCRATCH.

This colorscheme is based off of the mountaineer.vim Vim theme - an amazing theme in its own right, but it felt incomplete to me in some respects (and too harsh in others), so now Mountain exists, I guess. Mountain has been expanded off mountaineer, and I’ve spent a long time making themes based on my own weird-ass standards, so here we are! Feel free to check out the original colorscheme here1!

I also used many of the theme files from the infamous dracula theme - it’s a great colorscheme, and it’s what I’m migrating from. As such, I used dracula as a base for the code, and I feel that that’s a credit that needs to be given. There’s huuuuge room for improvement, and I’ll be trying to fulfill those improvements as time passes.

1 - due to misconduct, co1ncidence’s github account has been banned. That being said, I still appreciate all the work he put into mountaineer. Mountain wouldn’t be what it is without his work!

Contribution

I welcome contributions! I’m pretty crap at color design (if that hasn’t been stressed enough), and there are definitely aspects of this colorscheme that require improvement. Please leave requests/issues with ways to improve it! Together we can make Mountain OP™.
