KeePassXC Settings

My settings for the KeePassXC password manager.

Usage

This repository contains the settings file for KeePassXC. This file is syncronized using this Git repository. The following instructions detail how to use and sync this repository.

Install

Install these settings with the following instructions.

Direct Download

The settings file can be installed directly from the GitHub to the appropriate destination.

ℹ️	Close KeePassXC before copying the settings file.

Flatpak

➜ wget -qLO ~/.var/app/org.keepassxc.KeePassXC/config/keepassxc/keepassxc.ini \
  https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jwillikers/keepassxc-settings/main/keepassxc.ini

System Package

➜ wget -qLO ~/.config/keepassxc/keepassxc.ini \
  https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jwillikers/keepassxc-settings/main/keepassxc.ini

Git

It also possible to use Git to retrieve the repository and copy the file from there. This is described by the following steps.

Clone this repository.

➜ git -C ~/Projects clone [email protected]:jwillikers/keepassxc-settings.git

Copy the keepassxc.ini file to the appropriate location.

ℹ️	Close KeePassXC before copying the settings file.

Flatpak

➜ cp ~/Projects/keepassxc-settings/keepassxc.ini \
  ~/.var/app/org.keepassxc.KeePassXC/config/keepassxc/

System Package

➜ cp ~/Projects/keepassxc-settings/keepassxc.ini \
  ~/.config/keepassxc/

Update

To update the settings in this repository from an existing installation, follow these steps.

If you haven’t already done so, clone this repository.

➜ git -C ~/Projects clone [email protected]:jwillikers/keepassxc-settings.git

Copy the keepassxc.ini file from the appropriate location to the Git repository.

Flatpak

➜ cp ~/.var/app/org.keepassxc.KeePassXC/config/keepassxc/keepassxc.ini \
  ~/Projects/keepassxc-settings/

System Package

➜ cp ~/.config/keepassxc/keepassxc.ini \
  ~/Projects/keepassxc-settings/

Stage the updated file.

➜ git -C ~/Projects/keepassxc-settings add keepassxc.ini

Commit.

➜ git -C ~/Projects/keepassxc-settings commit -m "My even better configuration"

Push the changes back to the central repository.

➜ git -C ~/Projects/keepassxc-settings push
```
