Hey, we're looking into the above issues. It sounds like there are 2 of them:

  1. NTP servers blocked in China
  2. Updates failing because GitHub is blocked in China

Regarding GitHub, I thought it wasn't blocked but only slow. If that is accurate can you try downloading it (without any VPNs or proxies):
https://github.com/jsdelivr/globalping-probe/releases/download/v0.14.0/globalping-probe.bundle.tar.gz and
https://api.github.com/repos/jsdelivr/globalping-probe/tarball/v0.14.0 and
https://api.github.com/repos/jsdelivr/globalping-probe/releases/latest and
https://download.fastgit.org/jsdelivr/globalping-probe/releases/download/v0.14.0/globalping-probe.bundle.tar.gz
and tell me how long it takes?

Hi Jimaek, thanks for looking into this issue.

I tried to connect directly to the four links you posted, and here are the results:

https://github.com/jsdelivr/globalping-probe/releases/download/v0.14.0/globalping-probe.bundle.tar.gz
Downloads slowly at ~30KB/s. Takes about 1 min.

https://api.github.com/repos/jsdelivr/globalping-probe/tarball/v0.14.0
Completes instantly (< 2s).

https://api.github.com/repos/jsdelivr/globalping-probe/releases/latest
JSON content loads instantly (< 2s).

https://download.fastgit.org/jsdelivr/globalping-probe/releases/download/v0.14.0/globalping-probe.bundle.tar.gz
Reports "network error" after downloading ~256KB and stops.

Meanwhile I will try to set up an unfiltered environment for the probe to update.

Can you please flash the SD Card of the probe with the latest firmware here? https://github.com/jsdelivr/globalping-hwprobe/releases/tag/v1.3
Just download the gz file and flash the card with something like Rufus.

Let me know if it fixes your problems

Hi Jimaek,
I followed the above instructions today and it seemed to have fixed the problem for me. There are no more errors, the container was updated to latest version, and I can see my node in the API page now.
