device_asus_tf101's Issues

CMupdater shoudn't be here if not used

CMupdater should be frozen by default/removed because we don't use it.

It should be hidden from settings too.

(I can understand if it ends "won't fix" since it's not very important)

Support device-encryption

Based on the following conversation on IRC.

< Thrae> Anyone familiar with CM10.1 no-name? I've been trying to get it to encrypt my TF101 with a few builds now and I think it's not fully implemented, as while it has the option, it never does anything.
< Namidairo> they dun goofed the fstab
< Namidairo> josteink: /dev/block/mmcblk0p7 /data ext4
rw,nosuid,nodev,noatime,user_xattr,acl,barrier=1,journal_async_commit,nodelalloc,data=writeback wait,encryptable=footer
< Namidairo> to be fair, they didn't edit it at all
< josteink> Namidairo: that's it?
< Namidairo> im guessing
< josteink> worth a shot

Create an experimental build. See if it fixes anything, and see if it breaks anything.

Google talk force-closes when initiating video-talks.

Report on XDA suggests there might be some missing blobs in our gapps:

I looked into the /system/lib folder of previous gapps and roms I have used and these to '.so' files were not in our rom: libvideochat_jni.so and libvideochat_stabilize.so . Would those be what's making GTalk FC?

Looks like another reason to peek into Nexus factory images.

Google Now does not work for some users

Unable to reproduce this one myself.

Workaround: Common solution on other ROMs is to start Google Voice, start Voice Search, go into settings, voice and there block offensive words and hotword detection.

(Thanks to jacobsensei on XDA.)

SL101 issues: Keyboard and Camera

I know you are not claiming that this ROM is compatible with SL101, but it is nearly there except a few important bugs. I'm sure all the SL101 owners will appreciate if you can do these few additions.

  1. Tablet goes to sleep when keyboard is open. Therefore, keyboard is useless. I think it is the issue against using.

  2. Rear camera is inverted.

Other than these, everything works as expected. TF101 and SL101 are really close in terms of hardware, only few exceptions. For ICS, this compatibility pack below solved the issues. Maybe it can lead you towards what is different.

Web browser physical button should start default browser

The Browser physical button should start default web browser instaed of built in web browser.

In it's current state, it's useless most of the time because the built in browser is frozen and replaced, wasting a valuable physical button when multi-tasking/working

Recent app button not triggering recent app

Hello, when customizing the taskbar, the recent app button stop working at next reboot.

I found a workaround to this, reset the button position and re set them after each reboot but it's long and annoying over the time.

Build date : 22/06/2013
Build type : Linaro
Patch : open p droid
If won't fix, please remove the option since it's just broken (if possible)

EDIT : Physical button still works when the problem happen (long press on physical home bring recent apps)

WiFi Icon do not change color to blue when connected to Internet.

Hello,
I found a minor bug in latest linaro nightly 23/07.
When my TF101 is connected to local WiFi (with internet connectivity) my icon is still gray, not blue :)

In 24/07 Linaro build problem still exists

I Found the solution!

This problem is related to Google Apps and Play Store. If you delete Play Store from tablet, flash gapps from TWRP again the icon is turning blue again :]

HDMI not scaling to full TV screen

On Official Asus ROM the HDMI out uses the full screen of my Sony Bravia 40" LCD TV but the current nightlies show on a slightly reduced area. Also does not automatically hide soft buttons with MX Player.

Tethering options are not available

As reported on XDA, tethering is not available. Some users would like it to be.

Supposedly this is available in Team EOS4 without breaking anything on non-3G devices, and people are also sharing BT-tethered connections from phones via wifi.

It's probably the "tablet/no-modem mode" build which is disabling tethering. Look into how it can be disabled. Check build.prop from EOS for leads.

WiFi issue when HDMI connected.

While using an HDMI lead and connected to a screen, WiFi signal reduces in strength and drops out.

After unplugging HDMI, WiFi is restored.

Google Backup is not working nor enabled.

As reported on XDA:

GoogleBackupTransport doesn't appear to be working/recognized/installed. Backup & reset > Backup account is greyed out. This was briefly an issue on CM9 where GBT was not inclued in Gapps. That's not the case here. GBT is in the latest Gapps and is also present at /system/app/GoogleBackupTransport.apk.

Another Gapps-related issue? It should be fairly quick to test if different gapps produces different behaviour here, and if so, find the diff which makes a difference.

No SD/MicroSD-card controls in notification tray

Not present on AOSP ROMs by deafult, but it was in Asus stock and requested by some users. Adding it will annoy others (ie, needless nagging in the notification tray).

Workaround for now: Unmount SD-cards in Settings / Storage.

Caps lock on physical keyboard is ignored for top row

When using asusec french azerty, the top row ignore caps lock state, when in caps lock, the top row should always print numbers.
Numbers are correctly printed when using MAJ/Shift button

(Happens with every builds since CM10, not version or patch specific, other TF may be affected too)

Several issues reg. 10.1-20130721 stable

Not sure if development is stopped on this version but noticed a few moderate problems with the last stable i thought i'd report.

1> when coming from stock, flashing in this order results in a stuck on bootscreen scenario on twrp 2.6.3.0:
cm-10.1-20130721-UNOFFICIAL-tf101.zip>
gapps_4.2.2_CM10.1_TF101_20130324_stock_camera>
cm-10.1-20130721-UNOFFICIAL-tf101-tabletUIpatch>
wipe cache/dalvik

flashing them one at a time, followed by wipe cache/dalvik, then rebooting into rom each time works though.

2> No quick access/power widget even when enabled??

3> Wifi not toggle-able in usable status bar

Screenshots for 2 & 3:
http://imagedrop.co/img-52c05faeb86ed

4> Trying to access developer options results in settings hanging for 5 minutes.

5> quite minor but android keyboard touch sounds are much louder than normal touch sounds even when all volumes are maxed out.

Do let me know if you require logcats and/or additional info. Do also note that i'm new to this rom for this particular device. Would appreciate it if you could point me to workarounds if they exist.

WiFi, Bluetooth dock keyboard toggles.

I have lost the WiFi, Bluetooth and various other keyboard toggles, not sure if its a CM10.1 issue? I have played with various '.kl' files but can't get them to work?

Back, home, vol up/down work though.

Any ideas?

USB Mass storage mount and unmount issues

I have a a usb drive with two NTFS partitions. When I connect it to the USB port on the TF101 dock it only mounts the first partition. I see usbdisk0 and usbdisk1 in /storage but only usbdisk0 has content.

Also, I don't seem to be able to unmount the storage. Going to Settings->Storage and tapping Unmount SD Card under the USB storage heading brings up a message that it is attempting to unmount but it never does.

I have also installed Stickmount which allows me to now mount and unmount the partitions but the first partition remains mounted due to the build in mounting.

Using SD-card slot in keyboard dock does not work

Unlike regular MicroSD cards and USB-sticks (which does gets mounted properly), regular SD cards does not get mounted at all.

As far as I can see, this is almost all handled by vold, and that means we can work out the kinks, on the device by editing vold.fstab without needing to rebuild the whole ROM.

Looking at vold.fstab, (Regular) SD seems to be handled completely differently than MicroSD (which is a /dev/block/mmcblk1p* device). SD seems to be handled through a USB SD-card reader.

We need to find out what the actual mount-point we should use is, what stickmount (tail of dmesg?) uses and how we can get that into vold's fstab.

Current workaround: Install Stickmount or OTGHelper from Play Store.

AOSP keyboard issue

hello i just flashed #23 and i have an issue with aosp keyboard, it always desappaer when i type a search keywords in aptoide or a text in office suite. In fact this issue is in all app except google ones and it's hugely annoying.

circle battery icon broken in standar edition + ui

Since new toolchain the circle battery icon is broken in the standar edition + ui. The icon is grey with no blue indication of the charge. The circle + percentage icon is broken too. The others battery icons works well.

Unable to connect to bluetooth headset/speakers

User is unable to connect to bluetooth speakers/headset. Claims it works in Team EOS4 and other CM10.1 ports.

He was nice enough to leave some logcats. Logcat with Lumpy-kernel:
