Hi,
"ç" and "ü" characters (turkish char set) have display problem on jomsocial timeline..

Instead of the comment field i am getting this:

COM_COMMENTS_COMMENTS_COUNT
COM_COMMENTS_LABEL_NAME
COM_COMMENTS_LABEL_EMAIL
COM_COMMENTS_LABEL_TEXT
COM_COMMENTS_CHARACTERS_REMAINING

Using latest Joolma 1.7 with only sh4sef and multiads.

How can i fix it?

I'm having an issue(2, actually) with the way sliComments displays in some modules (Joomla 1.7.3 + sliComments 1.2.2):
It works just great everywhere - showing underneath articles or the 'read more' button..

However, when used in a "articles-Newsflash' module. it shows 'Comments (0)' on top of the topics, which can be confusing and not consistent with its general layout.

Next is when you hit 'Comments' to comment on a news topic, it opens up the article as intended with the form underneath BUT it ALSO shows the form in ALL the news topics of the NewsFlash module - BEFORE(above) each topic...

Do you have any suggestion as to how to remedy this?

I can not get the coponent access in the backend setup OK. Only admins can now access the component to delete or edit the comments. When I try to give 'manager' access to the component it does not work. Am I doing something wrong?

A run a Joomla site (version 2.5, latest), and I want to upgrade sliComments from 1.5.1 to 1.6.2. After the upgrade I can't open the component's page in the administrator's backend, I just get a white page. And this also happens, if I want to open an article in the frontend with comment's enabled.

What can cause this?

I have it set so registered users can write comments with auto-publish. But this feature doesn't work.
It still requires me to accpet each comment registered users are writing,

it is worth adding possibility to define the display of username instead of first and last name of user. Small thing but enjoy ;-)

There is a possibility to comment to an article in the blog view on the frontpage.
But the word 'Comments' seems to be fixed and can't be translated in another language. It's not a problem in the language files, but in the code (I think).

I have tried several times to uninstall the component and the plugin, Joomla says successful uninstall, but when you try to access an article on the site frontend, you get the following error:

Hi! I'm using the latest version (1.4.1), and I just ran into a problem. When I want to send a comment, which includes an url bbcode, the comment is disappearing. I can't see on the backend too. I tried then with only simple bbcodes, they are working, I can send it without problem.

I have installed sli comments and plugin is enabled and categories and permissions are OK.

I have the comments enabled on the "blog" entry and the box shows but says I need to log in to comment - I am already logged in. WHen I click log-in it takes me to a page where I can only logout.

Looking at the code there seems to be a method of only allowing the Public/Guests to vote once on each comment - by recording the IP address.
How is this enabled?

The standard Joomla module Related Articles does not appear on pages with sliComments active. When you disable sliComments you see the Related articles. Joomla 2.5.2. sliComments 1.2.2.

It might be a nice feature to be able to show/hide the commenting form. (show/hide javascript)

Just downloaded and installed sliComments today... However whenever I enter a comment - I'm getting 2 identical posts. Same with replies. Tried it using Chrome and IE9.

I have a similar problem as #18 or #19 - language files are missing so strings like COM_COMMENTS_COMMENTS_COUNT appear on the frontpage. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to fix it as advised, as there is only one language file for English: en-GB.com_slicomments.ini

I couldn't find:
en-GB.com_slicomments.sys.ini
en-GB.lib_decoda.ini
en-GB.plg_content_slicomments.ini
en-GB.plg_content_slicomments.sys.ini
en-GB.plg_slicomments_akismet.ini
en-GB.plg_slicomments_akismet.sys.ini
neither in the language directory, in the install .zip file nor here in Code/Files.

is it possible to add option to use Kunena profile avatars as well ?

First , my congrats for such a great component. Really.

Second, i cannot use it, and its not because some kind of error, its because a missing feature i really do need in my site, Voting comments and reporting comments, this is, a button to vote up/down and a Flag option to "report to administrator/moderator"

Do you think you will able to include this features in the very near future?

I use version 1.2.2, and I wan’t to upgrade, but the upgrade failes. The backend says, the folders are used by another extension, and only the component part did successfully installed.

If I try to use Joomla built-in upgrade system, it says:
Can’t open https://raw.github.com/jonnsl/sliComments/master/update.xml

Is there a normal way to upgrade, I don’t want to uninstall, than reinstall and set everything again.

Here are steps :
1 Kunena is integrated. (registering and loging through Kunena Login module) (ok)
2 sliComments - Options - Permissions - Public is set do Denied (ok)
3 sliComments - Options - Permissions - Registered is set do Allow (ok)
4 Registered user is loged to site through Kunena Login module (ok)
5 Registered user cannot post comment and see "Log-in to post a comment!" (fail)

Another feature that would be nice: The ability to comment on another comment. Maybe jus one level deep. And this comment on a comment needs to be placed below the comment that it is referring to. Could be combined with something like an admin comment to be added in the backend?

After I managed to change PHP 5.2 to 5.3 on my hosting, it solved my previous issue! Thanks. So I began to upgrade my site's another components, Kunena included (latest 3.0.x).

Then I ran again into a blank page, but I managed to find a solution and I want to share it to you. The new Kunena stores its library files in another directory, so I had to change a line in components/com_slicomments/models/comments.php:

require_once JPATH_ADMINISTRATOR.'/components/com_kunena/libraries/factory.php';

to:

require_once JPATH_LIBRARIES.'/kunena/factory.php';

And now your component works again like a charm. I hope this souliton helps when you are going to release a new version!

Is it possible to show a link with the number of comments below an article in the blog view frontpage in joomla?

I vote for adding a way to display last comments somewhere on the front pages like module or so, that means visitors and webmaster know who and when posted the last.

When trying to update sliComments in Joomla 2.5 using the com_installer, it tells you it couldn't download it.
Reason: A wrong URL is given in the update.xml!

Im having several issues with the layout of comments, it seems like the DIVS are inheriting the CSS style from the Joomla template.
I cannot be sure, because i havent seen any live website using sliComments, bout im pretty sure this is not the "normal" appearance of comments:

Take in consideration the "points" inside the " like-dislike-etc" Upside avatar, and such, also, the position the author, comments.. well, almost everything.

Any advice on this?

I install slicomment and uninstall folder by folder, now I want reinstall sliComments y said me:
Plugin Instalar: Plugin plg_content_slicomments ya existe
Plugin Instalar: Plugin plg_slicomments_akismet ya existe
Instalar componente: Las funciones de la base de datos, no reportan ningún error

I erase all files con phpMyAdmin and again said the same thing.

What can I do?

although i cannot see any line like "Just added a new comment to" in any slicomment file (even in language and code files), when a new comment posted to the article, it is published to jomsocial timeline in english (original site and used lang file in different language) "Just added a new comment to"...

missing description - COM_COMMENTS_XML_DESCRIPTION

This description should be shown by installer after succesfull installation,
however, because its its missing, "COM_COMMENTS_XML_DESCRIPTION" is shown instead.

Just installed sliComments Joomla 1.71. Like it, looks just what I am looking for.

When you log in to post a comment it won't allow you to type a comment, the only way I have found is to make the user a "Super user" it won't allow a "regestered user" to comment.
I have altered the permissions in the set up but nothing, as I said if I make the user a "Super User" then it works fine, but don't want to give that access to anybody.

The width of comment box is too long, it is not fitting with 2 right sidebars (JA Purity Template). The right boundary is cutting.

The comment box does not have flexibility for re-sizing horizontally (vertically it works).
I dont like bullets before name, email text boxes.

When I want to override the default.php frtom my template folder it does not seem to work... I'm using Joomla 2.5.1 and the latest release of sliComments.

The overrdes are here in my template foder:

Am I doing something wrong or is the a bug?

for registered users, rating is not working, no matter how i play with the settings (it is enabled, of course, in options)

This one is the most needed feature for me (sure not only), because already using other commenting solution (udjacomments). Jonathan had heard about this request from me, nevertheless i think it better to publish it here, so anyone who wants may help to create this.

What about adding opportunity to add comments in the other components. Me, for example, interested comments on EventList and Phoca, but I think it is worth to develop a universal mechanism ;-) I added these reports so only for the memory ;-)
