awesome-standard-notes's Issues

Many themes don't work in the web version of standard notes

I noticed that many of the themes listed are using "raw.githubusercontent.com/..." to serve the CSS file. This doesn't work in the web version of standard notes, (I'm guessing it used to). Github doesn't set the content type to CSS and so the browser rejects it. The fix would be to use github pages or jsdelivr. I can try to report an issue on each project that has the issue, but some don't have issues enabled on github, and others haven't been touched in years, so they might not get updated. Do you have any thoughts?

I also noticed that some editor extensions are broken now (probably not maintained). Do you mind if I go through and try to clean up the list?

Tangerine

Hi,

Sorry but I don't know how to make a PR.

I have finally gotten my theme to work correctly again after SN was updated a long time ago. Then after pulling my hair out for an entire day I discovered that it seems the only way to make the mobile app update to the latest version of the theme is to rename the repository.

Could you update the URL for tangerine to this: https://github.com/shompoe/sn-orange

Thanks

Add Fast editor

Hello! Thanks for your contributions! This repo is a great starting point for the SN community.

Please add my editor to the list:

* [Fast Editor](https://github.com/dec0dOS/standard-notes-fast-editor) - A markdown mobile-friendly and high-performance editor with clickable links on mobile and desktop.

Add One Dark Darker Theme

* [One Dark Darker](https://github.com/eenpadvinder/standardnotes-theme-one-darker) - Based on the One Dark Darker theme for VS Code, with colored headings and some UI tweaks.

Update Tangerine theme

Hi,

Sorry but I do not know how to create a PR. Looks like a lot of steps. Could you please update my Tangerine theme description as follows:

"Tangerine Theme - Newly updated for SN 3.9.15 onward. New installation link. Please re-install"

Thank you.

Error message: err: cache item is missing

Hi! Love the idea of CLI client for Standard Notes, but won't work for me. I installed v0.2.4 , it ran but when I tried to get notes using either title, text or UUID, I got this error message

err: cache item is missing items_key_id:

followed by what looked like the note in JSON, encrypted.

I downloaded and tried v0.2.2, same result. (v0.2.3 was flagged by my antivirus)

Theme coloring issues (webapp / macOS / iOS), and editor loading issues (iOS)

I'm getting annoyed with two issues in the free version of Standard Notes, since about two months now... These problems haven't been present before, and everything was working correctly, until they suddenly appeared. I can't remember if the two came at the same time, or they appeared individually, but anyway... Let me describe them....

1) The first one, which is the 'less of a problem', but I still decided to mention it, since the two could be related to each other. (One might cause the other bug)... When I load a 3rd-party dark theme, the note highlighting color is more often than not, not appearing correctly. Instead of the actual highlighing color of the theme, I get this white / off-white kind of highlight. This only is an issue with 3rd-party themes. The build-in ones are working OK. There's a screenshot of what I'm talking about right below. The "Pure Black" theme's highlight color (dark gray) actually appears as it should be (as well as Gruvbox Dark Theme). But the "Horizon Dark Theme" is buggy (as it can be seen on the screenshot I provided). The Dracula theme gives the same highlight color issue - just to mention another one. This issue is present for me in both the web app and macOS app, plus imo it seems to be in correlation with the second issue.

2) The second one is also related to 3rd-party extensions, and the issue only appears on my iPhone Standard Notes app. It's the Editor... Again: doesn't matter which 3rd-party editor I pick. I tried multiple, but the issue remains. When I open a note, the content doesn't load. All I see is an empty sheet. This only appears when using a 3rd-party theme. Everything's OK with build-in themes. To temporarily solve the issue, I long-press the theme's name, and redownload it. Then all my content is loading properly with my 3rd-party editor in place. Until I quit the app (from the app drawer). Once I re-open it, the issue is there again. So I either have to redownload my theme, or give up using a 3rd-party editor (the default editor works in every situation consistently).(only that the note content color is a bit off - it's grey on a dark theme)

Things I've tried:

  • Re-installing the app, by signing out and completely removing it both on my mac and iPhone. (tried twice)
  • Creating a new Standard Notes account, and installing just a 3rd-party theme, without any additional extensions. The note highlighting issue comes up instantly.
  • Creating a new Standrd Notes account in the web app, without exposing it to my macOS client or mobile app, so that it doesn't interfere with any possible corrupt files. This didn't change anything either in regards of the theme highlight color thingy.

Additional info:

  • The 3rd-party extensions are used only from the sources provided by the Awesome Standard Notes Github repo.
  • It doesn't matter which 3rd-party Editor I choose, the issue remains. (My preferred editor of choice is the "Rich Markdown Editor".)

TL;DR: When using a 3rd-party theme, no 3rd-party Editor is loading correctly on my iOS app, unless I hit "redownload" on my theme - which is a temporary fix that lasts until i quit the app (from the app drawer). After quitting the app, I have to redownload my theme again, else the 3rd-party editor (whichever I choose - doesn't matter) doesn't load the content of my notes, when I open them. If I stay with the built-in themes, this editor issue is no longer present, for the most part. (only that the note content color is a bit off - it's grey on a dark theme).

Does anyone have an idea what the hell is happening? I'm trying to fix this since weeks...

Thanks a lot in advance!

author of sn-vscode-theme

Hi there,

as I'm the original author of the mentioned theme I will develop it further again in the foreseeable future.

Would it be possible to link to my github repo instead of the fork so everyone who would want to use it could benefit from my future developments?

Best
marco

Standard Notes Writer is a theme not a editor

Hi, I was going through all items and just realized that [Standard Notes Writer](https://github.com/eenpadvinder/standardnotes-writer) - Distraction free writing with word count is not a editor but a theme, it's in the wrong section

some broken links / confusing links

  • first [Dracula theme](https://github.com/cameronldn/sn-theme-dracula) link is broken
  • some themes link to the install link rather than the github repo, it'd be nice if all the links were standardized for either the install or for the repo (happens for Monochrome Dark Theme, Subtle Dark Theme, Subtle Light Theme, maybe others)

Add Standard Notes Writer

Here's another (I'll stay quiet after this ;-))

* [Standard Notes Writer](https://github.com/eenpadvinder/standardnotes-writer) - Distraction free writing with word count

Using the name "Outline" to promote the Rich Markdown Editor may be a violation of their BSD-3 License

The 3rd clause in the BSD-3 Licensed used by the Rich Markdown Editor states this:

As a result, naming Outline in the Editors section to promote the @arturolinares 's sn-rme may be a violation of their license. I'm not sure if @arturolinares has received written permission to use the name "Outline" to promote sn-rme, but this is something to be aware of.
