Aparently, JavaFX turned out to be highly unreliable to work on different systems out of the box due to its module approach. Best thing would be to head over to another technology, ideally something web-based like Vaadin.

Since the tool had some appear for other kind of events, the pre-defined categories won't cut it. Instead, they should be determined on the fly from the initial file, and probably require some kind of interactive maintance section in the app itself.

Depending on the use case, the default arrival time isn't versatile enough for different use-cases. To make it more flexible - and precise -, there should be different stop-options next to each other: the proposed time, set when entering the input field, and a "now" button, just take the time for the current moment.
