bypasses's Introduction

bypasses

Repackaging of Bypass to allow for direct gradle dependencies

Build Status

Gradle Dependency

Easily reference the library in your Android projects using this dependency in your module's build.gradle file:

Gradle Dependency

Add this in your root build.gradle file (not your module build.gradle file):

allprojects {
	repositories {
		...
		maven { url "https://jitpack.io" }
	}
}

Then, add the library to your project build.gradle

dependencies {
    compile 'com.github.budsmile:bypasses:1.0.6'
}

This library is provided as a "fat" aar with native binaries for all available architectures. To reduce your APK size, use the ABI filtering/splitting techniques in the Android plugin: http://tools.android.com/tech-docs/new-build-system/user-guide/apk-splits

Usage

If you just want to use Bypass without using your own Spans check out http://uncodin.github.io/bypass/

If you want to use your own Spans for some Elements you'll have to extend DefaultSpanProvider. E.g.:

class CustomSpanProvider extends DefaultSpanProvider {
    public CustomSpanProvider(Bypass.Options bypassOptions) {
        super(bypassOptions);
    }

    @Override
    public Object[] onCreateLinkSpans(String url) {
        return new Object[] {
                new ClickableUrlSpan(url),
                new StyleSpan(Typeface.ITALIC)
        };
    }
}

Now, when instantiating Bypass just do the following:

Bypass.Options options = new Bypass.Options();
Bypass bypass = new Bypass(this, options, new CustomSpanProvider(options));

That's it! :) Your CustomSpanProvider will now create all Links in Italic. And there are a lot more methods to override. Just check out the Source Code to understand how the methods normally create their Spans.

Robolectric

See this issue for an explination for getting Robolectric to work.

Proguard

This dependency also packages the Proguard rules suggested for bypass to work properly with Proguard enabled
