As seen in the top-right example, when moving the mouse cursor over an element with a position override, and you land on a nested element within it, the position temporarily goes back to the defaults. This is because event.target is changing based on what element the mouse cursor is on-top of, instead of the just the base element.

Not an issue here, but rather a feature request.

I added a little feature, to be able to pass the tooltip message to the constructor (so the HTML files aren't too cluttered, and all my tooltip messages are defined in some .js or even .json file).

I think you should add this feature to your main script :

    const {    
        cssZIndex = '9999',    
        (...)    
        msg = ""    
    } = settings || {};
    (...)
    this.msg             = msg;
    (...)
}
createMouseTip(event) {
    (...)
    const message  = this.element.getAttribute(this.selector + '-msg') || this.msg;

Now my mousetip can be defined like this :

I didn't manage to import es20115 module on my code without editing mousetip.es2015.js file and adding a modules.exports = MouseTip; line.

Is there other way to import it without editing your files ?

Suggestion: Can we invoke deleteMouseTip before generating any new mousetip in createMouseTip?
