beef-taco's Issues

Crashing Firefox 45 and 46

Hello. This addon is crashing versions 45 and 46 of Firefox.

I haven't tried it on other desktop than Xfce 4.12, but I had tried on both OpenBSD-current and Xubuntu 16.04 LTS.

Disabling the addon stops crashing Firefox.

How to reproduce:

  1. Open Firefox 45 or 46.
  2. Select 'New Window' or 'New Private Window' in the burger menu.
  3. Again, select 'New Window' or 'New Private Window' in the burger menu.
  4. Firefox is now crashed.

Thanks in advance.

Menu Items Don't Always Show Up In The Right Place

Depending on platform and circumstance, the menu item sometimes shows up grouped strangely, including all the way at the bottom of the tools menu.

Ideally this would be grouped with "Start Private Session" and "Clear Recent History"

Protect / white list beef taco cookies when del all others w/o closing browser

For FF 6x, Vista x64 SP2, I noticed a lack of functionality that BT cookies added to exceptions (loaded ea time FF is started). If I choose "delete all cookies" of course it deletes BT's, too - generally not desired.

Could go thru FF's cookie UI & set BT's cookies to Allow, & that MIGHT work if want to clear all other website cookies during a session w/o closing browser, but when NEW cookies are automatically added thru BT updates, they won't have same "Allow" setting. So, back to manually checking cookie settings ALL the time.

If there's nothing currently out there that would allow doing what I suggest, perhaps could include this as feature in future BT versions?

My reasoning is, if visited a # of site & want to clear all those cookies, but DON'T want to close FF, there's no way not to del BT cookies also - AFAIK.

Thanks.

Preference option for menu does not work correctly. Seems to stick on after restarts.

Bad Cookie For optout.yieldoptimizer.com

Invalid cookie, looks like a bad conversion.

WebExtension

Firefox is moving all code to webextensions:
https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2017/02/16/the-road-to-firefox-57-compatibility-milestones/

There's already a Chrome webextension; I installed it in Firefox but it seems to set malformed cookies that are ignored:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/protect-my-choices/hdgloanjhdcenjgiafkpbehddcnonlic

The chrome extension's code is Apache 2-licensed just like Beef Taco so shouldn't be any trouble to use, beyond the API issues.

Also, its database of cookies is different (and licensed under some weird DAA thing) not sure which one is better.

Menu Item Is Redundant

The menu item added in 1.2.0 is redundant as that dialog is accessible from the Firefox options menu.

Options considered are complete removal or optional hiding.
