Hey @jmarceli, thanks for your article, that solved my biggest mystery of why cloud-init didn't work with Vagrant.

I also filed a PR to correct the documentation on this as you pointed it out that it's not reflected in the page. Hopefully more people discover this useful information 🤞🏼

This repo doesn't come with .env file, which should contain, VAGRANT_EXPERIMENTAL="cloud_init,disks" which is explained in the article but could be mentioned in the repo, too, I think.

Also this line doesn't explain that it requires installing a plugin, which I think explaining a bit would be helpful for beginners.

Another approach would be guiding VAGRANT_EXPERIMENTAL="cloud_init,disks" vagrant up instead.
