Overview

makedeb takes PKGBUILD files and creates Debian packages installable with APT.

Installation and usage

makedeb is available on both Debian and Arch based distributions.

Documentation and installation instructions can be found in the makedeb docs.

Help with available commands can also be found after installation with makedeb --help.

Support

makedeb has a variety of platforms for obtaining support with makedeb itself, the MPR, and contributing assistance.

The main platform used for support is Matrix. We also provide bridges to other platforms to help accommodate for users who don't wish to use Matrix.

GitBook: For documentation hosting. GitBook lets you create your own documentation in multiple formats, including Markdown and a WYSIWYG editor. GitBook also natively integrates with other services such as GitHub and Google Analytics.

Inedo: For their universal package manager and Docker registry tool, ProGet. ProGet is used in the makedeb project to manage both Debian packages and Docker images. In addition, ProGet also supports private repositories and registries, as well as numerous package formats, including RPM, NuGet, and npm.
