AGN variability can be modeled as a damped random walk (DRW), which behaves as random walk at short time scales but asymptotically reaches a finite amplitude of variability at long time scales. The DRW model has two parameters: the damping timescale (tau
) and the long-term amplitude of variability (SF_inf
).
