I own a octavia rs 2.0 tsi Manual gear and try out both files:
5f0 907 159 unlocked 1 and 2

But the Sound is very Lame.
What i Need to do? Must i edit the files With the 010 Editor or Are they also edited?
Must i compare the files With the rs4 firmware in the mailfolder?

• I have a 2022 Audi A3L, It belongs to the new architecture of MQB-EVO.
• I installed it and connected it to my car, and it could make the loud sound.
• But when I switch modes in Audi's driving mode, Comfort, Sport or ECO, It always makes loud sound, and switching modes does not change the size of the engine sound.

Could you please give me some idea? Did I set it wrong somewhere?
Or the gateway of my car doesn't match?

Might sound stupid to many - but I'm struggeling on the phase : appropriate tool.
Meaning, what physical tool must I use ?
Have in-house :
VCDS hex2
PEAK PCAN-USB (IPEH-002021)
misc no-name K+DCAN usb interface (bmw originated, used with INPA&ISTA)

With VCDS I can contact directly to the ESM module (without can-gateway module or car) though address C0 and see that ok... but it doesn't allow anything else to be modified then the sound volume.
Might be able to other things if i would have security code for it, dunno.

I have 2 different ESM's lying around that I could do some coding testing / parameter reading - most intruiging would be unit from a 2019 Porsche 982, with OE numbers (both stamped in device) :

What i recon from Youtube, this Porsche module would give out nice sounds, but honestly I don't know how to start this.

As electrical engineer, working in automotive fieId for few years (for work & hobbies), I do know some basics, but at this point I'm stucked on quite low level issues.

I have a two problem, if I start, sound is nice and loud, after change DSG to D/S, sound turns off and it won't turn on until the next start car.

second problem is with FPA I try odx version with FPA (FL_8W0907160___0001_UNLOCKED.odx) and no listen sound (maybe quietly), then I try FL_8W0907160___0001_UNLOCKED_NOFPA.odx I hear a sound here, but if DSG change to D/S sound stop.

What I do wrong please?

1. What I have, Audi A6 C7 2.0 petrol
2. Active Exhaust Unit flashed in FL_4G0907160B__0007_UNLOCKED.odx
3. I have no errors that the wrong car etc.

I have 2 errors

0000A [10] U112100 Databus missing message

I got exactly the same errors when I installed Sound Actuator and flashed it to FL_8S0907159__0004.TTRS.MOD1.odx
I was very upset at that moment that I made a mistake somewhere, but then I flashed into FL_4G0907159B__0010_UNLOCKED.odx and everything worked perfectly for me, the errors were gone, from which I concluded that these firmwares had some kind of different core and that TTRS does not work on A6 C7.

It may be that the firmware

a common core was used, in which there is a parameter to use some other CAN Databus, which does not work on A6 C7?

Sorry maybe a stupid question but I'm not able to parse this file directly with the template. Now I'm not sure should I just take the binary part and paste it as a new hex file or what?
It also fails at some point in parsing with unexpected end of file. I would like to have this file modified so that it works with 1.2TSI engine Hatchback Leon :

I installed sakGEN2.5 and wrote 9Y0907159M firmware.flashing is successful but the vibrator doesn't work. 9Y0 is v8 sound of Porsche cayenne but my car is Audi q5. I want to know how to solve the issue. I have successfully used URUS 4ML before.

I'm wondering if it is possible to mod the firmware of 8J0907159 and 8J0907159B, which are from the TDI TT and the TTS. The former is locked to the TDI engine, while I'm not sure yet if the latter is locked to the TTS specific version of the 2.0 TFSI engine or if it will work in the TT 2.0 TFSI. The TTS has an EA113, but with a different engine code of CDLB instead of BWA or BPY.
What exactly is the software lock comparing against btw?

Hi, I've retrofitted soundaktor to my 2015 Passat B8 2.0BiTDi with FPA. Previously I was using this soundaktor in my Octavia 3, where all firmwares were working, but in Passat no sound at all, only thing which is working is function test. Everything is coded in GW, no errors at all. Tried different FWs for FPA but no difference.

I have the following problem.
I retrofitted the sound actuator from Audi S1 8X in my Audi A1 1.4 TSi 150PS Bj. 2015.
This has the part number 8X0 907 159 C. I have now tested pretty much every data set you can get here and none of them have worked. I keep getting the error "Wrong vehicle type" and no "Canbus signal".
The vehicle does not have an FPA.
Does anyone here happen to have the unlocked original data set for the 8X0 907 159 C control unit?

I would be really grateful for help.

Hello guys, so first of all thank you for all the info regarding A9 and C0 sound modules information it was very helpful and educative :)
I have an Audi A7 4G platform that did not had the sound module or the sound actuators, so I decided to retrofit it, all god all nice, I made the harness, connected to CAN gateway(CAN High-drivetrain and CAN Low-drivetrain), activated the C0 in CAN installation list, everything worked perfectly, module is communicating ok, in the first phase I had the Wrong vehicle type error witch had been resolved by flashing FL_4G0907160B__0007_UNLOCKED.odx file on it with ODIS, after flashing now I have these 2 errors:
0014 -Data Bus
-U1121 00 [009] Missing Message
0010 -Data Bus
-U1121 00 [009] Missing Message
Afterwards I flashed both
FL_4G0907160B__0007.MODIFIED3.WORK.PERFECT.odx
and
FL_4G0907160B__0007.MODIFIED3.WORK.PERFECT-Benzin.odx

In both cases the sound module had no errors, the sound is present, it changes with acceleration, but it is very small/low/quiet even if the volume is set to100%, also another thing I've noticed is a background noise present like a small buzzing in the actuator high pitched from the moment i put the ignition on and also when the car is on.

I tried to do a test tone which worked had some UFO sounds :)) and it sounded quite ok and high [as volume]
What am I missing? Any thoughts would be highly appreciated, I got so far with this retrofit and got stuck at the end :(

Hi! I warted to try to make this by myself but I have no idea how to load hex to 010 editor I don't know why. And I wonder if there is possibility to make sound (Gen2 RS4 sound) go completely off on some drive profiles to make drive more comfortable.

Hello, I'm currently trying to figure out whether it's possible to retrofit a Sound Actuator to a Golf 6 (PQ) car.

I picked up a Gen 2 Sound Actuator from a Polo GTI (6C0), so far I've understood that only Up GTI's (1S0) are still PQ based therefore it's firmware should be flashed onto the module to communicate with PQ cars.

From @NumberOneBot's own fork, I noticed the 1S0 UNLOCKED firmware, but flashing with either VagCanPro or ODIS-E ends up completing but there is no change with the module (it's as if the data has not been changed since all part numbers remain the same)

I've come back to @jilleb's original project and was able to successfully flash any of the firmwares and the part numbers would also change accordingly, but of course these are still all MQB based so I'm currently struggling to find the issue with flashing the PQ 1S0 Firmware onto it.

Firstly am I correct in my understanding that Up GTI is still PQ Based so the firmware should play well in PQ based cars? Then also whether anyone has any advice with converting the MQB Gen 2 into PQ Gen 2 as flashing the 1S0 Firmware seems to make no changes.

Hi, I retrofitted the control unit and the speaker on A3 8V diesel, loaded the file FL_5G0907159 ___ 0014_UNLOCKED_1.odx (Golf GTD) and everything works perfectly (Thanks!). I have tried other firmwares, in particular FL_8S0907159___0004_UNLOCKED_1.odx (TT any engine) but it sounds very low, almost non-existent. I also tried the TT firmware for petrol engines (FL_8S0907159___0004_UNLOCKED_2.odx and FL_8S0907159___0004_UNLOCKED_3.odx), but there is no sound (as I expected).
My question is: is it possible to adapt petrol to diesel firmware?
I would be curious to understand if it's possible, I assume also the audio is to be adapted according to engine rpm, which are not the same in diesel and petrol and so I would try TT rs to see how it sounds..

Hi can you make a file for Passat GTE without FPA and the FL_8W0907159D__0006_UNLOCKED.odx so that the Sound is only in GTE Mode. I try to modify the FPA Switch from 7 tor 3 in the Gateway Dataset, but i get incorrect Dataset Error. Actually i Drive with the NOFPA Version from the 8W0907159D, this is very Cool, but in E-Mode and the other Modes too much.

Hi! I retrofitted Soundaktor on my Audi A3 2017 Sportback e-tron, I added A9 module in Gateway and coded Byte 19 Bit 5. I flashed with unlocked SW (tried with/without FPA). But I have one error in A9 and it doesn't work:

Maybe for hybrid car need more coding or another FW? I have Drive Select. VW Golf GTE similar to my car and there is working fine from factory.

I have flashed FL_8W0907159D__0006_UNLOCKED.odx successfully, however, when I change between driving profiles, I do not hear any difference (for example, in eco/comfort mode, it's still as loud as in dynamic).

I have a manual Audi A3 2015 (pre facelift) with a 5Q0907530M gateway and its software is 5Q0907530T.

Perhaps FPA profiles only work on 3Q0 gateways from facelift models?

Here you can see, that checksum for VIN Mask is with high probability in adress 0000h-0001h. I have some idea for this, but we need more information about the possible range. I have no 5E FW file, so i can't test it myself. Can you flash 5F test files to enclose the range for this part?

I have tried a number of firmwares on my A6 4G 2.0TDI, some with CAN bus errors in the control unit and some error-free.
nevertheless, the actuator does not make a sound while driving, regardless of the driving mode. Only the actuator diagnosis works, there the usual whistling sound is emitted. But absolutely nothing happens while driving.
Anyone know what could be the problem?

First of all, kudo's for all the work that has been done here. I threw a donation in as a first thing.

Installed the soundaktor on my Tiguan AD1 2018 (2.0 BiTDI) a year ago, only to run into the 'wrong vehicle type' code and no joy.
The tiguan didn't come with a soundaktor, also not in other configurations, but the Arteon with the same engine did. So i have a soundaktor from the Arteon.

Suddenly found out this website, and i tried flashing another firmware that was unlocked (Golf GTD), but also no joy. Soundaktor code disappeared, soundaktor is happy but does not receive a driving profile message from the gateway, so i'll have to get an original dataset for that at some point and modify it, also to put the soundaktor setting in the individual driving profile settings menu.

But the gateway dataset is a secondary issue. First and foremost i was wondering the following:

I see firmware with part numbers that were, to my knowledge, never available as flash files. So my question is; were these read from the modules themselves? I have another 3G8907159 module laying around with the original flash still in there. If the firmware can be read, that would be great so it will allow me to keep it as stock as it gets.

Long story short:

1: Any way at all to get the 3G8907159 flash file? No problem to ship a module to someone either if they can extract firmware, and of course not for free because going through the trouble for me is worth something. The reason i want this specific firmware is because the engine is quite a bit different from other TDI's and i have driven an Arteon with the same engine and soundaktor, and it was perfect. Not too quiet, not too loud, just exactly right all the way.

2: Any way someone can pull an original gateway dataset for my VIN? Unmodified so i have something to tinker with. Again, no problem at all compensating someone for the time it took.

Regarding the problem of my 2022 A4L, I flashed the odx according to the tutorial, but he showed failure, and then my soundaktor showed on the software of odis14.1 version: coded actual installation not detected. I see a question mark in front of the soundaktor in the gateway, and I can't encode it. I hope you can help me, my soundaktor is basically in a state of no effect now.thx!

Hi, on drive2.ru you write that version of the internal sound control module (xXx 907 159) is vitually identical and the firmware is identical.

It is possible to upload firmware designed for example unit 8W0907159 (Audi) upload to unit 5E0907159 (Skoda)

I had a friend flashing my 160B unit which had 160E software with 160B software and that's a lot louder as I wanted it.

However my A9 unit is 4H0907159A and software was 159D which he changed to 159B as well. Now on this A9 I get U10D900 Incorrect vehicle type.

Can you please let me know what should I do to clear the error? Also, is the unit really working if it has the error or doesn't work at all?

Hi. Looking for some advice. I have a 2020 passat GTE with Soundaktor in GTE mode. It’s 100% in VCDS but is almost silent. Sometimes i don’t hear it at all. Every now and then it’s very briefly loud.
there are no errors
It will not perform an output test.

Vw don’t want to know. Most forums don’t care for the Soundaktor.

Are there any common issues I could test without pulling the scuttle apart?

should it be able to do an output test?

Hi.When the block is being flashed, the error "Failed to load the firmware container. The format does not correspond to the data of the specification "VW 80128-3" for the ODX firmware container".
At the same time, other blocks are successfully stitched.

I have an opened soundaktor, and it has a renesas processor, I managed to connect to it (because I fucked it programming soundaktor firmware in an exhaust sound unit) and now I can write directly in the processor, is a renesas v850, need eeprom and data to try to get alive the unit. Thanks!!!!
