Budgeting App Backend

This is the backend server for the Budgeting App. It provides the API endpoints to manage transactions.

  • MongoDB (or your preferred database)
  • Mongoose (ODM for MongoDB)

Getting Started

Prerequisites

  • Node.js installed on your machine

Installation

  1. Clone the repository:

    git clone https://github.com/your-username/budgeting-app-backend.git
    
    
    

Navigate to the project directory:

cd budgeting-app-backend

Install the dependencies:

npm install

Create a .env file in the root directory and add the following environment variables:

PORT=3001

Start the server:

npm start

The server will run on http://localhost:3001.

API Documentation Transactions GET /transactions: Get all transactions GET /transactions/:id: Get a specific transaction by ID POST /transactions: Create a new transaction PUT /transactions/:id: Update a specific transaction by ID DELETE /transactions/:id: Delete a specific transaction by ID Refer to the API documentation for detailed information on request and response formats.
