hxm-heart-rate-sensor's Issues

Proper BT connection termination

I have almost no programming experience with BT devices and I'm not sure if my way of closing device connection is correct or not. Closing socket seems legit but there might be more than that.

CRC and other validations

Current version have couple of checks whether received message is OK but it is not fire proof.
Documentation has some examples written in C but I have not yet tried to port that code.

Code uses pointers and I want to avoid enabling unsafe or add a C++ WinRT component to the project.

Odd message content

Sometimes message content is not 55 bytes as it should be and heart beat timestamps seems to be corrupted. It is fairly easy to when that happens but I was not able to figure out why or how to parse timestamps correctly. I also don't know if timestamps are the only things that are corrupted.

As side note, this issue seems to be link with too slow reading from sensor and couple of initial reads.

Proper life cycle

I don't have much experience developing apps for BT devices and no experience on how to handle them on Windows platforms. App seems to be working just fine when put in background but that does not feel right. Perhaps background task is a better answer for that? Does current model of background tasks support this scenario? Or is it fine just to ignore life cycle and hope for the best?
