jellyfin.github.io's Issues

Add social icons

Similar to the Emby site, social icons, including GitHub, should be prominent.

Perhaps a header bar on desktop?

https link https://jellyfin.media redirects to non-https http://jellyfin.org

Many of the links to Jellyfin (including the main link @ https://github.com/jellyfin) are to https://jellyfin.media which redirects to http://jellyfin.org rather than https://jellyfin.org

It's a bit jarring to load something with an https prefix and get redirected to a http site.

Additionally, even though the download links are still to https repos, the pages they're being served on are plain http which could be potentially vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks to redirect elsewhere or other javascript injection on hostile internet connections/captive WiFi portals.

Not a huge priority, but it seems like it could be trival to fix.

Fix spacing issue between screenshots

Looks like I messed this up in #8. The screenshots don't have enough horizontal space to show up, and this is introducing scrollbars in at least Chrome (I didn't see these in Safari when working on it).

Spacing issue

In the "What is Jellyfin?" section all the text are too close to each other.

Convert Website to Hugo

The theme for this website is called Evie. Someone had made a Hugo port, but it was incomplete.

Recently, one of our main jellyfin-web contributors (@dkanada), helped fix this port up to be usable, but we need help to implement it.

The repo is available here: https://github.com/dkanada/evie-hugo

Any PRs that can help with this goal will be gladly accepted.

In the final website, we're looking to do the following:

  • Keep the same styling we're using now (fonts, colours, etc.)
  • Keep the same static pages that we currently have (If we need to re-write them in MD, that's fine, we just need that template)
  • Create a blog section for us to start writing posts
  • Bonus - Add a section that shows the most recent post title on the main page

Screenshots for Live TV

Need to add screenshots of the Live TV Interface, including, but not limited to, the TV Guide, and recording settings.
