sidetabs's Issues

Feature Request: Middle Click on Empty Space to Open New Tab

In Firefox's default tab view, middle clicking on any free space would open up a new tab. It would be very useful to have something similar with Sidetabs, where middle clicking anywhere in the red area (image below) would open up a new tab.

Tab bar should not collapse while right click menu is open

while the tab bar is expanded, right-clicking a tab will immediately make the tab bar lose focus and thus collapse, making it harder to understand which tab the context menu will affect. I think the tab bar should remain expanded until focus is actually lost.

(thanks for making this!)

Weird rendering issue

Sorry, I don't know how to reproduce it, but thought I'd pass it along anyway.

I didn't do anything unusualy as far as I know. The other two browser windows were uneffected.

Screenshots below.

Scroll list to active tab

With a list of tabs longer than can be displayed vertically, and opening a new tab (e.g. at the bottom of the list), the list does not scroll to the bottom to show the active tab.

Not a big deal, but it would be a nice to have.

Thank you.

Please implement grouping and middle-click close functionality

It's the only two essential features that all the other "sidebar/vertical" tabs addons have, that Sidetabs doesn't, which is torture considering that this is the only addon that actually works and offers all the other essential features (like scrollable pinned tabs) ...

Preserve tabs button when hiding tab bar

Hello,

First off, thanks for the great extension. I got used to a vertical tab bar like this in Brave but have been wanting to move back to Firefox for a while. Thanks!!

Not sure what it's called but on the far left of the tabs bar is a button which shows open tabs on other devices (screenshot below).

Not sure if it's possible, but it would be lovely if there was a way to preserve access to this button when the top tab bar is hidden by Sidetabs.

Best wishes from Wellington. :-)

Changing svg.context-properties.content.enabled breaks the sidebar

After installing Simple Tab Groups I went to change svg.context-properties.content.enabled to true to allow light coloured icons to show in dark mode. Restarting firefox after doing this made the sidebar white and unusable. This behaviour still occurs even if Firefox Color is disabled. Any help would be appreciated.

Feature request: Make sidebar expand on hover optional

  1. Make sidebar expand on hover optional
  2. Also add just a tooltip with tab title when you hover over the favicons in the unexpanded sidebar

I realize this can be done manually pretty easy by just removing the #sidebar:hover style from userChrome.css (which I have done), but I think it should be an easy toggle in settings. Still missing 2) tho ๐Ÿ˜Š

Feature request: Add support for additional separators

Since Sidetabs does not (yet) support grouping, please consider adding support for additional separators as a half-step towards that goal. I see that they are already present between pinned tabs, unpinned tabs, and the New Tab button -- but they can't be customized in any way.

Issues with Adaptive Tab Bar Color and multiple windows

When using this extension with the extension Adaptive Tab Bar Color (changes window color depending on the active tab), the color of the sidebar changes for both windows depending on which one is active. Desired functionality would be that both windows color are independent depending on the tab in that window and match the Firefox header of that window regardless of which window is active.
