- Check the console for the URL in a new hello-friend tab
In Chrome remove the applications object in the manifest.json this is Firefox only

Local development

Clone the source

git clone [email protected]:jaywick/hello-friend.git

Firefox

Go to about:debugging in address bar
Click Load Temporary Add-on button on top right
Open any file at root directory of this extension's source

Chrome

Go to chrome://extensions/ in address bar
Tick Developer mode toggle at top right
Click Load Unpacked
Choose the directory of this extenson's source code

Icon

Probably high time to use an icon for this extension

[minor bug] "chrome://..."-type bookmarks not opening

Bookmarks starting with "chrome://..." don't open from the 'hello friend' new tab page (e.g. a link for "chrome://extensions").

Note: I don't mean javascript bookmarklets -- I noticed that these are filtered out in script.js.
The "chrome://..." ones are rendered in the list, but clicking them doesn't open them.

Blank NewTab Page on Brave Browser

New tab page is blank in Brave browser when the extension is installed. No bookmarks show up.

Support Microsoft Edge

Edge now uses Chromium and supports installing extensions straight from the Chrome Web Store. However the bookmarks folder is called "Favourites Bar".

Support firefox

Support blank names as separators in order to support Chrome Bookmark Separators

The site http://www.chromebookmarkseparator.co.uk creates mock separators using their favicons. We could support this as a separator.

Cater for overscrolling both horizontally and vertically

Display nested bookmarks

Options page to edit the actual object we get back from './objects.js'
