Sway is an i3-compatible window manager, and i3ipc-python also supports it out of the box. As such, this project works in sway as well.

To avoid confusion, it might be a good thing to advertise this support in the readme/doc. I was about to try and add support myself when I realized support was already there.

I am on i3-gaps and it just doesn't work. I followed the steps to install it and it doesn't work.

I just wanted to inform you that I forked this repo just to package it with Poetry and publish it on pypi for easier installation.

I am not sure about that issue because I am not good in understanding how Makefiles are working exactly (yet), but...

I noticed that make install is installing file to the '/usr/local/bin/' directory and make uninstall removes 'swallow' file from '/usr/bin/'.
I don't know if that is intended so I didn't make any pull request amending that myself (I am not confident if I'm right about that).

I've been trying to get this to work with Newsboat, but I'm not able to make it work. Is it possible somehow?

I often run swallow mpv http://youtube.com/the_video and it runs for at least 20 minutes then pauses. I can't even kill it with Mod+q. I have to open a new terminal and killall mpv swallow

I've also noticed that if you let a video sit paused then try playing it like an hour later it will just instantly freeze

following the described installation gave this error
