etcd is a distributed key-value store designed for distributed systems. It offers a gRPC API and automatic TLS encryption (with optional client certificate authentication).
etcd uses the Raft consensus algorithm for highly available data replication.
It serves as the backbone of many distributed systems, providing a reliable way for storing data across a cluster of servers. It works on a variety of operating systems including here Linux, BSD and OS X.
