Intelligent Personalized Care

A Solution to promote physical agility and recovery.


Developed in the scope of a final bachelor degree project in Computer Science and Engineering, at ISEL.

The Intelligent Personalized Care project aims to respond to the rapidly increasing sedentary lifestyle and isolation of the population. Using advanced vision techniques to provide personalized and effective remote care for patients in different health scenarios, it will be possible to reduce and prevent sedentary lifestyle, and promote physical exercise and rehabilitation in people.

This project is based on an Android application to promote physical agility and recovery, through (tele) exercise and (tele) rehabilitation using immersive approaches with vision techniques and artificial intelligence. In addition, the application will offer advanced patient monitoring and follow-up features, allowing physiotherapists to monitor the patient progress.

Languages

We focused on choosing Kotlin as the master language, both in the backend and frontend. There are some Java classes created by Google, which are used to handle the ML Kit Pose Detection. We are using PostgreSQL in the database.

Add ML Kit Pose Detection

Adding the functions and classes necessary to develop, the Artificial INtelligence ML Kit pose detection

Report and HTTP API Documentation

Do a technical report and documentation of the HTTP API required for a front-end client application to use this API. This documentation should not include any information about the internal backend implementation.

Creation of a plan

Physical therapists have to create plans of exercises, They are able to see wich plans have created. The client that have said plan assigned to can see the plan and can upload the video of making each exercise.

Add a splash screen

This screen will check if the user is registered in the app, if so, the necessary requests to the API will be made and then the home page will appear, if not, the registration screen will be displayed.

Create Administrator Role

This role will serve for app maintenance, such as:

  • validate a monitor's authentication document
  • add exercises to the exercises library, assigning their title, description and preview.
