Should the handles be un-anchored by the loop ?

When creating a one-shot timer the semantic of having the timer be auto-closed when unused is interesting; on the other hand the opposite semantic may be better for an async handle. Anchoring based on handle active state may be too complex and without that feature it implies that an handle could be closed while active, based on nondeterministic garbage collection.

Channel with limited capacity

It may be useful to have channel with limited capacity:

  • blocking push
  • try_push

On the other hand, it increases implementation complexity (in contrast to pull, push requires processed values).

Check FFI handles ?

Misuse of FFI handles seems unlikely, especially because they are encapsulated in tables.
