at my tablet (cyanogenmod android 4.2.2), most of the text is missing at some files. The adobe reader renders the pdf correctly.

But at my phone with android 4.0, the pdf viewer the pdf is correct shown.

I got this error messages if I open a PDF file from the download notification:

Opening the same PDF file directly or via Total Commander works fine.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open email app
2. Download and store a PDF locally
3. Press the PDF file name in the download notification
4. PDF Viewer is opening and shows this message

Used Versions:

• Android 5.1.1
• PDF Viewer 1.2

This is the same as a bug in the early days of the Chrome PDF viewer, and I believe it was once a bug in eBookDroid which was probably inherited here.

I think that bug is mentioned here:

It looks like it was fixed just after they closed the source. I can confirm that the same book mentioned there, at http://press.princeton.edu/chapters/s6946.pdf, does not render properly on PDFViewer.
