It seems that it does not like forward declaration of static arrays

These files are installed into /include and might conflict with somebody else doing the same.

We could provide our own simple alternative to improve portability

This would simplify things during development a lot.

Those rarely change, but regenerating these files require extra efforts.
Perl and python are required. Also generating files is incovenient when cross-compiling.
Since there are no releases, users could just pull whole repo or individual files and compile them without struggle.

This would allow avoiding issues with selecting proper version:

This would simplify building on windows

Recent versions provide stdint.h and stdbool.h, no hacks should be required.
