Google Spreadsheet embed looks to be the bottleneck!

As a potential donor, I may have heard about the water situation in Detroit through NPR, Twitter, or internet news. I think it'd be helpful to link to helpful stories about what's going on and why. Sure, people can Google for themselves, but I think it makes the case for donating that much more compelling. If not links to stories, then perhaps just a paragraph outlining the situation. Why are people's water bills so high? How long can a bill be unpaid before the water is shut off?

Currently is says "We're helping people Detroit get their water turned back on."

I think it should say "We're helping people in Detroit and Baltimore get their water turned back on."

I just signed up to be a donor, but until I get the email, it's not clear to me how much I'll be asked to give. It'd be great to select an amount when I put in my email.

I could help implement this if needed.

Unless there's a good reason to make the Google Doc editable by all, maybe we should transform it into an API that we can hack into something responsive.

As a donor or potential donor, I'd love to know about how much money the DWP has raised, or how many people it has helped. I would be much more likely to donate if I knew that this project is having a measurable effect.
