Is it possible to add jest-matchers
to webdriver container? #8
I would also add :
Command docker logs will tell you if you have any issues with your grid.
Remove old versions of selenium dockers (it was messing with my installation).
At the bottom of the README.md, there's a note that says this:
Or you can add a sleep time to make sure the hub is ready: docker-compose run --rm webdriverio bash -c "sleep 10 && wdio".
However, since your Dockerfile specifies node:8.9-alpine, there is no bash. So this command gets this error message:
Error response from daemon: OCI runtime create failed: container_linux.go:348: starting container process caused "exec: "bash": executable file not found in $PATH": unknown
When i downloaded complete repository with example test (after running run) - i got:
ERROR: Error forwarding the new session Empty pool of VM for setup Capabilities [{rotatable=true, locationContextEnabled=true, loggingPrefs=org.openqa.selenium.logging.LoggingPreferences@81ee3f7, browserName=firefox, javascriptEnabled=true, handlesAlerts=true, requestOrigins={name=webdriverio, version=4.6.2, url=http://webdriver.io}}]
The docker-compose.yml provided in GitHub has two errors in it. These cause this error when running the container:
ERROR: Error forwarding the new session Empty pool of VM for setup Capabilities {browserName: chrome, handlesAlerts: true, javascriptEnabled: true, locationContextEnabled: true, loggingPrefs: org.openqa.selenium.logging..., requestOrigins: {name: webdriverio, url: http://webdriver.io, version: 4.14.1}, rotatable: true}
The problem is that the environment sections need to have this:
HUB_PORT_4444_TCP_PORT=4444
Otherwise, the script that starts the selenium standalone jar file specifies a URL to connect to the HUB which is invalid, and the chrome and firefox containers can't establish a connection to the hub.
The example docker-compose.yml that's shown in README.md doesn't have this problem. It does specify HUB_PORT_4444_TCP_PORT. But the docker-compose.yml is missing that line.
I'm not quite sure, why using a complete NodeJS image, which results in a image size of 760MB. Using node alpine version just has 167 MB.
I created a PR (#9) with it and also updated it to latest LTS version (8.9.0)
When i run docker-compose run --rm webdriverio wdio
"configuration helper" starts (i anwer questions) and it tries to install webdriverio locally.
When i put conf file, it either cannot find tests or additional packages.
Is there any way you could explain me how can i make this work ? :)
