Will Procon be compatible with the new Firefox? I haven't seen any updates on this, and I believe Firefox updates on 14 November.

Can phrase blocking using wildcards and regular expression be implemented? For instance on may cases u are not allowed to give spaces or intentionally do not give spaces . Then if u use offensive words it wont be blocked. Example: Let brown and orange be offensive words. If it appears with space[ brown orange] it will be blocked but if it appears without space[ brownorange ] it wont be blocked.
I use only the profanity filter in procon latte Firefox v45 . I use Opendns to block adult sites . Also do u know any other profanity filter subscriptions ...the one provided by default was last Updated: Tue May 03 2011 . I'm using a subscription to a whitelist hosted on my own server. I've just added some domains and I'd like to update the whitelist.
Clicking the "Update Subscriptions" button in the preferences doesn't seem to do anything,the sites aren't added and I can see that the line in prefs.js, extensions.procon.subscriptions.whitelist.sites, hasn't changed. Also extensions.procon.subscriptions.lastUpdateTime doesn't change.

Am I doing something wrong with this button?

Also, would it be possible to change the 72 hour update time? A option to change it in the settings would be great.

If you open a Guest Session, all filtering disappears as no extensions are present.

Is there a way to solve this either by removing the Guest Session option or password protecting it?

Found an issue.
I have installed ProConLatte.

Trying to go to http://www.sex.com : page is blocked.

But if I click on the new tab button, Firefox displays last websites visited with a snapshot.
And the snapshot for sex.com is here, with image of... sex :p

Any possibility to not display it ?

never disabled procon, but FF was slowing, so disabled some other ext, and that was the only activity on my part that i can imagine precipitated this-- just a data point for context in case it helps

BTW any movement on that disqus issue-- should i second that one?

Hi there! I'm one of the people using a legacy version of firefox simply because of love and appreciation for your addon.
I'm not here to ask for the addon to be updated for the new version of firefox, though that would be awesome. Instead, I'd like to ask for an added feature for the profanity filter.

As it works currently, the profanity filter scans for any words on the list and changes any word containing a listed word into whatever the user selects.
For the sake of comedic value, I'd like to request that there be an option where, instead of replacing entire words because of a component that is on the list, only that specific component gets replaced.

To explain, I set the profanity filter to replace any cuss word with "smurf" and then removed any compound cuss words from the list hoping the result would be hilarious. Alas, my dreams of seeing people call each other smurfheads or exclaim MOTHER SMURFER were dashed when I saw that that simply isnt how the filter works.

Any chance for an update to allow this silly feature to exist? Please? It'd be pretty smurfing awesome

I find this a very wonderful add-on that has been very helpful to me, so my thanks are in order first of all.
There is, however, one feature that would complete ProCon for me, and it's the one I listed in the title:

I would love to have the ability to set a timeframe in which if too many pages are blocked, all internet access gets cut for a certain amount of time.

For example: I set the internet to block for 15 minutes every time 8 pages are blocked in 5 minutes. (values in bold can ideally be changed by a drop-down menu or input field)

How I imagine this example to be implemented exactly is that with the option on, each blocked page sets off a 5 minute 'block timer', during which the amount of blocked pages are counted. Once this number hits 7, a 15 minute block on all websites is enacted. Multiple 5-minute block timers may overlap if multiple blocked pages are navigated to within the time frame.

This would be a real life saver for me. Is it realistic for you to implement a feature such as this?

I use this amazing Add-on for about four years. And everything is fine. It#s still the best Add-on to filter also the content of websites.

Since I've updated Firefox to version 50.0.2 this Add-on doesn't seems to work at all. It doesn't block any website. The only function that remains is asking for the password to get access to the configuration of Firefox.
I didn't changed anything but updating Firefox.

Can you repeat this bug by updating Firefox?

Nice extension,

Whilst putting this through it's paces for a colleague and noticed an issue where I can use javascript to reveal the MD5 hash of the master password.
Because the MD5 is unsalted, It can then be cracked using precomputed hashes on various internet sites.

Can you consider adding a random salt to the master password before hashing and using a better hash than MD5.

Firefox addon page has removed this legacy addon. I can't find it anywhere on the internet.

I managed to extract the installer xpi from my local firefox. And posted the link in the next comment. But I think it's safer for everyone for it to be on github instead of Google drive.

I like your app a lot, but I've come up with a weird bug. All websites have weird spacings. Before and after a special character I get a space.
For example:
Original: "ProCon can filter any kind of material (pornography, gambling, hacking, cracking, etc...), it can also block all traffic, making sure that only desired websites (those in the whitelist) can be accessed. It also includes a profanity filter."

Hello! The AddOn does not work under Firefox Quantum :-( Will there be an update for Quantum?

ProCon does not seem to filter Disqus comments. I noticed the comments load as the user scrolls the page.

While the preference page of procon latte is password protected, it can be disabled without the password...most probably after it was given "NO RESTART" ability . Pls look into it @hpaolini

The following suggestion makes it easier and faster to add new words to blacklist.

While browsing a website, and if there is a certain word that I want to block, then I would like to select the word and open the context menu (with a right click) and select "Block urls containing this word" or "Block pages containing this word"

Recently I must add "google" to Whitelist because it was blocked by procon on Firefox.
When "google" is on whitelist, my son can write on "google browser" something vulgar like "boobs" or "wet tshirt" and then he have a lot of phornography photos.
When I don't add "google" to the whitelist I can't use google browser.

I think that, when the blacklist was prior then whitelist then the problem will be solved.

Please help - this is important.

You just pushed out an update Procon latter 4.0.1 that has a bug. When you type in your password to the pop up, it shows the password and not the * symbols when you type as it should. It is windows 7 and Firefox 44.0.Please fix, thanks

Since updating Firefox to 40.0.2, ProCon Latte lets the user go to websites not on the whitelist, even though our settings are the same. We tried reverting to our Old Firefox Data, but ProCon is no longer available as a choice to download from Firefox add-ons.

The following website says "No Restart." Does this mean that the 4.0.2 filter will not be available from now on, or does it mean that we just need to donate $5?

We love the ProCon filter and would love to be able to keep using it.

Firefox just updated to 45.0.2 on my computer, and now procon is not blocking any sites, even though I have "enable blacklist" (and "block sites" and "block words") checked. If I go to a blacklisted site, it loads like normal. I assume that this is related to the FF update, as procon was working yesterday.

However, other functions (such as password-protecting the add-ons page, etc.) seem to still work as normal.

It seems a new issue has risen after today's update. I can't open the Preferences anymore from FireFox Add-on. I tried this after reinstalling the add-on too but that didn't help.

I tried to type in a few blocked words and ProCon didn't pop up at all. Could you please have a look?

I wanted to ask, if it's possible to create an option, that procon search for blocked words, when the access is limited to withelist.
For example google is on whitelist and the access is limited to whitelist procon does'nt search for blocked word on whitelist.
Now I use a second filter to block this keyword, but an easier way would be an other option.
