in ubuntu global extensions I believe need to be installed in this folder
/usr/lib/firefox-addons/extensions/
how can I adjust the README installation instructions to install the 3 themes into that folder?
Everytime I rename file or folder in nemo, all text and background change to white, so I cannot see anything util I edit theme.
Strange: It only happen with ARC theme, ARC-DARK work normal.
Arch theme is not working with Firefox 44, can you please add support for this browser version? Thanks
Title pretty much explains it, I'm just confused because it's working on Firefox 44.0.2 on my Linux box!
I can't install latest versions to FF40.0.3 running on mac os x.
This is how it looks in the navigation bar:
And this is how it looks in the Customize screen:
(the label is also gone)
Happens even if I manually disable all add-ons, so I don’t think it’s related to any other add-ons I have installed. (Doesn’t happen if you “Restart with Add-ons Disabled”, since that disables the theme too.)
Do you consider publishing your theme on AMO? It could be signed by Mozilla and users wouldn't have to worry about having "untrusted" addon.
Thanks for providing this theme, use it on Gnome without any issues.
At the moment I'm running KDE 5.5, and I would like to see a better integration with the Breeze theme:
I've also installed a (special) patched version of FireFox (firefox-kde-opensuse), but unfortunately the issue still remains.
I'm not an expert (just an user :P), that's why I've opened this issue.
It seems FireFox doesn't respect all GTK-elements (when using breeze-gtk) and from what I've read uses a different kind of (theme-)engine.
If you could fine the time and/or could point me to the right direction, I would be very happy. :D
If not, no worries, since I understand you cannot maintain all DE's. :)
I am currently trying to use your theme in Firefox Nightly (43.x) but unfortunately it does not work.
I have Iceweasel ESR (38.2.1) on Debian Stretch and, too bad, I cannot install the extension. :(
Originally reported at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1221000 – this seems to be only reproducible with the theme on, so posting here in case the bug is purely in the theme.
To reproduce:
Actual results:
The little box that pops up says
nordea.no
Secure Connection
Connection is Not Secure
This is a secure Firefox page.
Expected results:
nordea.no
Connection is Not Secure >
I want to match the result as provided in the screenshots.
Could you provide me with the details? :)
Thanks for creating this wonderful theme! :D
Well.. The subject says everything. Arc theme isn't compatible with GTK 3.20. See examples en this post: https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=32989.0
thanks
Is there a way to apply for OSX?
The Gnome-Firefox theme detects when you are using the HTitle extension to hide the title bar and renders its own Close, Maximize and Minimize buttons, mimicking the appearance of apps that use Client-Side Decorations.
I would be great to have this functionality added to the Arc Theme.
Hi horst3180! I've been enjoying your arc-dark theme on LMDE Betsy MATE for several months now--gorgeous bit of work there, mate! You probably know that the upcoming Linux Mint 18 theme will be based on Arc.
Anyways, I've been modifying the arc-firefox-theme for the Pale Moon browser. If/when it's finished, would you be interested in integrating it with this theme (as a branch, I suppose), or letting me use the name "arc" as part of the theme name (prob. arc-palemoon-theme)? I'll be happy to do whatever maintenance necessary.
Or would you prefer this remain a completely separate project and/or not use the name "arc"?
If I read your repository correctly, arc-firefox-theme is released under the Mozilla license v2, correct?
Cheers!
Fred
(Sorry if this is not the proper way to contact you--I would have emailed but could not find an address.)
Hi,
I've noticed that the link to the installation in addons.mozilla.org takes to the german page:
https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/collections/horst3180/a/
Is this intentional? The page in English is
https://addons.mozilla.org/en/firefox/collections/horst3180/a/
I know Windows isn't supported, but it works quite well actually.
Trying to install version 40.20150820 doesn't work, firefox complains that the theme is not compatible with 40.0.2.
Maybe updating minVersion
to 40.0.0
and maxVersion
to 42.*.*
in install.rdf
could fix this?
Just like the Gnome 3 theme, the preview can be seen here: http://fedoramagazine.org/make-firefox-look-native-fedora/
The title bar is just useless in Gnome 3 or Pantheon
Since the gtk-theme is only available on linux it doesn't make sense to mark the theme(s) plattform independent.

Is that mean this theme already dead?
Will you release a theme for Vivaldi browser any time soon?
Although Vivaldi is based on Chrome apparently themes do not work out of the box but still it is possible to theme by overriding default .css.
Firefox scrollbars dont stay blue while scrolling.
See for yourself:
[Here used to be the screenshot]
Edit:
This also seems to be the case for other UI elements on various websites and dialogs.
I updated to the 2015-09-11 version from the working theme version of 26th of August, but Firefox somehow reverts to showing its default theme while saying Arc Firefox is active.
This both happens on Ubuntu 15.04 and Arch Linux.
I know it probably won't work right without the gtk theme but I figured I could try
There are 2 usability issues with the arc-firefox-theme scrollbars when compared to the Arc GTK theme scrollbars (at least using Ubuntu 15.10, Gnome 3.16).
First, the Firefox scrollbars:
Second, the Nautilus scrollbars (using Arc Darker theme):
Here are the 2 problems:
Thanks for a great theme.
UPDATE: these "too skinny scrollbars with no boundary" exist in Thunderbird as well (NOT using the arc-firefox-theme), so it must be an issue to report against the generic Arc theme instead of specifically here. Here is a link to the Arc Theme issue filed: horst3180/arc-theme#324
I love Arc Themes but i use Windows and Linux so i made All OS and Versions (3.0 - 49.0) compatible installation. Maybe the theme'll don't work after reboot, just try ^^
Thanks to dev ;D

I think it will be better if you could make the tab close button bigger.
After installing arc-firefox-darker, it became very difficult to read the titles of tab groups. Tab groups can be accessed by pressing Ctrl-Shift-E. Groups are named by clicking on the box that appears when the mouse is held over the group.
The title of this group is "Bug Report" but is hard to see
Highlighting the name makes it more readable, but is a poor workaround
