arc-firefox-theme's Issues

Compilation into different folder

in ubuntu global extensions I believe need to be installed in this folder

 /usr/lib/firefox-addons/extensions/

how can I adjust the README installation instructions to install the 3 themes into that folder?

Not working on Firefox 44

Arch theme is not working with Firefox 44, can you please add support for this browser version? Thanks

Firefox Hello icon broken

This is how it looks in the navigation bar:
screenshot from 2015-09-22 14-25-16

And this is how it looks in the Customize screen:

(the label is also gone)

Happens even if I manually disable all add-ons, so I don’t think it’s related to any other add-ons I have installed. (Doesn’t happen if you “Restart with Add-ons Disabled”, since that disables the theme too.)

Pubishing on AMO

Do you consider publishing your theme on AMO? It could be signed by Mozilla and users wouldn't have to worry about having "untrusted" addon.

Firefox 42.0 glitches

After Firefox updates to 42, some glitches appeared in the interface (disappears when changing to default theme).

KDE/Plasma 5.5 integration

Thanks for providing this theme, use it on Gnome without any issues.
At the moment I'm running KDE 5.5, and I would like to see a better integration with the Breeze theme:

  • The window control buttons doesn't match with Breeze
  • The window background doesn't match with Breeze

I've also installed a (special) patched version of FireFox (firefox-kde-opensuse), but unfortunately the issue still remains.

I'm not an expert (just an user :P), that's why I've opened this issue.
It seems FireFox doesn't respect all GTK-elements (when using breeze-gtk) and from what I've read uses a different kind of (theme-)engine.

If you could fine the time and/or could point me to the right direction, I would be very happy. :D
If not, no worries, since I understand you cannot maintain all DE's. :)

inconsistent info about secure connection

Originally reported at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1221000 – this seems to be only reproducible with the theme on, so posting here in case the bug is purely in the theme.

To reproduce:

  1. Install and turn on Arc Darker theme
  2. Visit https://nettbanken.nordea.no/login/
  3. Click the warning triangle ⚠️ in the location bar.

Actual results:

The little box that pops up says

nordea.no
Secure Connection
Connection is Not Secure
This is a secure Firefox page.

Expected results:

nordea.no
Connection is Not Secure >

Small menu icons on hidpi screens

Hi,
I am using a Dell XPS 13 with Ubuntu 15.04 and Gnome 3.14.4 and the icons in the top right corner appear very slow. I am also using the Arc GTK3 theme and the Arc gnome shell theme.

Here is a screenshot showing what I meant in the top right corner.

Make a new spinner for dark theme

The spinner used in the theme is that of the firefox's default theme, which looks out of the place in the dark version:

Please make a new spinner that is better and BLUER.

Some textfields have hard to read text with Arc Dark

Some text fields have either light text on a light background or dark text on a dark background. I've attached a few examples. I'm using Firefox 43.0.1 and Ark Dark 43.20151213 in Firefox. I'm using arc-theme 1450051815.946cbf5 in Debian Testing with Openbox.

HTitle Extension Support

The Gnome-Firefox theme detects when you are using the HTitle extension to hide the title bar and renders its own Close, Maximize and Minimize buttons, mimicking the appearance of apps that use Client-Side Decorations.

I would be great to have this functionality added to the Arc Theme.

Variant for Pale Moon

Hi horst3180! I've been enjoying your arc-dark theme on LMDE Betsy MATE for several months now--gorgeous bit of work there, mate! You probably know that the upcoming Linux Mint 18 theme will be based on Arc.

Anyways, I've been modifying the arc-firefox-theme for the Pale Moon browser. If/when it's finished, would you be interested in integrating it with this theme (as a branch, I suppose), or letting me use the name "arc" as part of the theme name (prob. arc-palemoon-theme)? I'll be happy to do whatever maintenance necessary.
Or would you prefer this remain a completely separate project and/or not use the name "arc"?

If I read your repository correctly, arc-firefox-theme is released under the Mozilla license v2, correct?

Cheers!
Fred
(Sorry if this is not the proper way to contact you--I would have emailed but could not find an address.)

New version doesn't work on windows

I know Windows isn't supported, but it works quite well actually.
Trying to install version 40.20150820 doesn't work, firefox complains that the theme is not compatible with 40.0.2.
Maybe updating minVersion to 40.0.0 and maxVersion to 42.*.* in install.rdf could fix this?

Make theme linux only

Since the gtk-theme is only available on linux it doesn't make sense to mark the theme(s) plattform independent.

Black text on black background

I've noticed some issues related to text colour. I'm using Firefox on Linux with a dark GTK3 theme and a light GTK2 theme.

Theme for Vivaldi browser

Will you release a theme for Vivaldi browser any time soon?

Although Vivaldi is based on Chrome apparently themes do not work out of the box but still it is possible to theme by overriding default .css.

Is it possible to stop this theme from styling html elements?

Is it possible to stop this theme from styling HTML elements like input?

With the "darker" variant of this theme installed, certain components look quite dodgy:

In particular, I am talking about the search input in the top-right but the scroll bar is also effected.

Search related "Highlight all" button, color problem

Hello,

I'm using the light version and have found a slight problem. Theme features blue background and white text when required. However when I use search in page, I realize that this color pair is not implemented fully. Background is there but text is black.

White text on white buttons

See for yourself:

[Here used to be the screenshot]

Edit:

This also seems to be the case for other UI elements on various websites and dialogs.

Tabs broken in dark and darker

In the dark and darker themes, the tab line does not at all look like the screenshots. They're white and I cannot read the labels on anything but the selected tab.

scr

Howevering over a tab also makes it possible to see the labels.
The normal theme works fine.

Thunderbird support

All the great themes I see are for Firefox but Thunderbird never gets some love. Would be great to see this theme on it.

I'm using Arc theme on my Arch Linux but it doesn't look as great as it could be...

Keep up the good work! =D

scrollbars: skinnier than gnome apps and also no boundary

There are 2 usability issues with the arc-firefox-theme scrollbars when compared to the Arc GTK theme scrollbars (at least using Ubuntu 15.10, Gnome 3.16).

First, the Firefox scrollbars:

wasta-linux-15-10-firefox-scrollbar

Second, the Nautilus scrollbars (using Arc Darker theme):

wasta-linux-15-10-scrollbars

Here are the 2 problems:

  1. The firefox gray scrollbar is maybe 2 pixels skinnier.
  2. The firefox "scrollbar boundary" is not shown. What I mean is the line to the left that shows the user the edge of the scrollbar box. Without that they don't realize they have a few pixels of "grace" when trying to click exactly on that "too skinny gray bar".

Thanks for a great theme.

UPDATE: these "too skinny scrollbars with no boundary" exist in Thunderbird as well (NOT using the arc-firefox-theme), so it must be an issue to report against the generic Arc theme instead of specifically here. Here is a link to the Arc Theme issue filed: horst3180/arc-theme#324

Group Tabs title hard to read with darker theme

After installing arc-firefox-darker, it became very difficult to read the titles of tab groups. Tab groups can be accessed by pressing Ctrl-Shift-E. Groups are named by clicking on the box that appears when the mouse is held over the group.
bug1
The title of this group is "Bug Report" but is hard to see

bug2
Highlighting the name makes it more readable, but is a poor workaround
