For example "if filesize > 50mb" -> open not in default editor but alternate editor

So your default editor for log files is Notepad++ but if the file size of the log is over 50mb open it in another editor, graphical mockup:

If you change the order of the editors first and then add a new one, the order is set back to the initial order.

By using various SendMessages with:

• LB_GETSELCOUNT = 0x0190
• LB_GETSELITEMS = 0x0191
• LB_GETCURSEL = 0x0188
• LB_GETTEXT = 0x0189

it is possible to avoid using the currently used Clipboard messages.

Additional option to show only editors that meet the criteria (extensions) in the menu, so you if you have four programs with "txt" in the extension, just show these four and not all editors in the foreground menu.
It would be a third option to open a file

• F4 = edit with first found
• Esc & F4 = show entire foregound menu
• something & F?? = show "filtered" menu (matching programs only)

Reproduce steps:

1. Configure F4MiniMenu :

   Total Commander:
   2 - Start TC if not Running(set TC Path) and TC path is set correctly
   Enable "Close F4MM when all copies of TC close"
   Enable "Close F4MM when TC closes started by F4MM"

   Filtered mode(menu): F4

2. Configure Total Commander: set F4 to run F4MiniMenu-64.exe

3. Close F4MiniMenu and Total Commander

4. Run F4MiniMenu

Expected Result:
4. F4MiniMenu is running and Total Commander is running, F4 menu in Total Commander works

Actual Result:
4. F4MiniMenu is not running, but Total Commander is running. F4 menu in Total Commander is not working when pressing F4 at first time

⚙️ While setting up an editor allow the TC parameters to be passed as Parameter and StartDir.

%P causes the source path to be inserted into the command line, including a backslash \ at the end.

%T inserts the current target path.

? as the first parameter causes a Dialog box to be displayed before starting the program, containing the following parameters. You can change the parameters before starting the program. You can even prevent the program's execution.

Debug version INI - just unpack into the same folder, close any running versions of F4MM and start F4MiniMenui2.ahk - after startup it should show a GUI with the contents of the Matchlist object

In filter mode if only one coincidence = call editor without showing menu

As noted by Ovg here using the Winkey combo in the background menu fails to operate as intended.

Followed the installation instruction to unpack and run the script, and always had the following error:

F4MiniMenu

There seems to be an error with the XML settings file.
F4MiniMenu will try to create default configuration and restart.
Be sure to check the last backup of your settings in "F4MiniMenu.xml.bak"

Be sure to exit F4MiniMenu before trying to restore any backup settings.

Merge the XML and INI versions into one script allowing user to selected preferred method via settings menu and ask at first setup.
When changing format later one format should be translated to the other so the user can switch without any problems.

Hi,

a conntected a ftp drive in TC 8.52a, but after pressing F4 eg for a css file only the ftp download starts, but afterwards my assigned editor do not start, nothing happens.

On my local drive F4MiniMenu works (for the same files) perfect!

During manual sort or after a "Set as Default" in the Configure editors Gui, the icon in the listview does not change which is confusing.

In the next version you will be able to use the fore/background menus in Explorer, Double Commander, and XYPlorer

For fun: keep track of

• how many times each editor/program was used: notepad.exe 9 times
• which extensions where used: txt 5 times

Experimental release using INI format to store the settings. If you want to manually edit the INI close the program first otherwise changes will be overwritten when you make changes in the program.

Just unpack into a new folder and run the script, there is no conversion script for XML to INI but the XML is pretty straight forward so it wouldn't be to hard to create the INI if you need to.

When you add or modify an editor allow the user to set an Icon for the menu entry and set a name to use in the Menu

I have this issue where if I'm opening a single file, the editor comes up but is not focused, so I need to click in it before I can start editing. The same does not happen when opening multiple files.

Hope this is the right place to ask. Can it do this? For example, start Meld with meld file1 file2.
