salesforce-cli-buildpack's Introduction

Heroku Buildpack for the Salesforce CLI

This is the official Heroku buildpack for installing the Salesforce CLI into your Heroku dyno. It will also install jq, a command-line tool that is like sed for JSON data, which makes it easy to interact with JSON output from the Salesforce CLI.

Usage

To use sfdx and jq, you simply need to export the appropriate paths:

export PATH="$BUILD_DIR/vendor/sfdx/cli/bin:$PATH"
export PATH="$BUILD_DIR/vendor/sfdx/jq:$PATH"

The $BUILD_DIR is the path where your apps source is stored on the Heroku dyno.

salesforce-cli-buildpack's Issues

[question] how to install CLI plugins?

hi, I wonder how to install plugins for sfdx CLI. I tried something like this in compile script:

install_sfdx_cli_plugins() {
  log "Installing sfdx plugins ..."
  sfdx plugins:install @salesforce/plugin-name
}

and call it after install_sfdx_cli:

setup_dirs
log "Starting CLI installation ..."
install_sfdx_cli
install_sfdx_cli_plugins

in the output I can see how my plugins are installed, but after, in heroku I do a sfdx plugins --core and I can't see my plugins

any idea?
