xyz-documentation's Introduction

XYZ Documentation

The documentation is written by developers for developers, and we hope it's helpful for you. It is structured slightly differently than the official HERE XYZ Developer Documentation because we want highlight concepts we think are really important and also put it into context of a broader interoperability with other tooling. As such we will include over time content from the broarder community.

We use the excellent MkDocs for generating the site with a slightly color/style tweaked Material for MkDocs theme.

xyz-documentation's Issues

Issue with spatial search and centering

This is either a documentation issue or a CLI issue. I was doing some testing today and noticed a command I've used before to find features around a center point no longer worked. This is the command I used:

here xyz show 7dnEdlMy --center 30.22478,-92.02402 --radius 300000 --spatial

After talking with Dinesh about it, we tried removing --spatial and all of a sudden it began working. But the docs (https://www.here.xyz/cli/basic-features/) imply strongly that you should use --spatial with --center:

And as I said, it used to work.

Space ID vs Name

On this page, https://www.here.xyz/ui/yourxyzspace/, the sample code shows this:

// Space name
space: 'playground-link',

However, spaces don't have a "name". I tried title and it silently failed. When I tried the ID, it worked. I'd change the comment to "Space ID"

Create link to XYZ Tutorials in Menu

It is not easy to find the XYZ tutorials since they are not linked from the documentation at here.xyz. I'd recommend putting a link in the main menu as a good start and integrating them together as a potential longer-term solution to make them easier to discover.
