Hi @Jokeren,

We have not gotten around to extending the existing HPCToolkit reader to ingest data without the metric-db files. What is your timeline on this? Would you want to contribute this feature to Hatchet as a PR?

Thanks for your response! I will start to use it in mid September.

Would you want to contribute this feature to Hatchet as a PR?

Sure, I will start by making changes by myself first.

@Jokeren: We're making a list of tasks to complete for SC. Do you have any updates on this?

@slabasan , oooops, sorry I am still busy working on HPCToolkit side, not starting this yet. It is on my list, but I have to make HPCToolkit dump the data I want before using hachet.

@Jokeren No worries, and thanks for the update! We'll keep this as an open issue here. We'll plan to get this implemented and will keep you posted for testing.

Hi! I just wanted to voice my support for this feature. Any chance there has been any movement on reading hpctoolkit databases without metric-db? Just reading through this thread and the associated hpcprof changes, this appears to indicate that hatchet cannot read hpctoolkit databases that haven't been generated in an MPI context.

@moxcodes We are actually moving toward a new database format. @blue42u can provide you some information.
