Using a text editor for development often involves shifting lines up or down. My keyboard shortcut for this (and some similar commands) is Ctrl + Shift + Up or Ctrl + Shift + Down.

Performing this shortcut produces too many sounds - as though the sounds for Ctrl as well as Shift as well as the sounds for the arrow key (Up or Down) are all repeated as long as the keys are held together.

Please let me know if you need more info.

Working great on any windows 10 app except vs code, any specific configuration !?

One thing that sounds strange is that we hear the whole key trajectory sound, going down and getting back up, although we did not release the key.

It would be interesting to have 2 sounds: one for down, one other for up.

So, this option can make mechvibes randomly picking the sound from installed sound package (or chosen package) every time the mechvibes opened. Great app btw ♥️♥️♥️

I can't find the custom folder, and when I click open custom folder nothing happens? I am currently running Mac OS Mojave.

there is no error detail, just a little window show up and says ''W7 or later are needed''
with other apps when they don't support XP you get the typical error window ''it's not a valid Win32 application''
with other apps you can also see different errors on startup but they end up working fine.

PC specs ? ASUS mainboard(s) and AMD or intel quadcore
(XP is only an issue to find USB or graphic drivers on very recent hardware)

When a tool doesn't run on XP I test it on another PC with W7 to see wether it's worth keeping it.
I found your utility really nice to me this is why I'm trying to convince you to backport it to XP.

I had the white bar problem and I couldn't fix it after restarting the my computer so I unistalled mechvibes and every folder with it but for some reason when I try and reinstall it, I can only get it to install about 1/3 of the way on the bar and it just stops. I have been letting it try to download for over and hour.

mechvibes setup is stuck and wont move

I suspect that when I close the program the temp file gets deleted. I've made sure that my system does not delete files that aren't being used.

Is it possible to add sounds to mouse clicks?

Very nice and great app. I just love using it. But it does not work on apps that we run as administrator.

Hi, thank you for developing mechvibes!
Numeric Keypad only mode would make only numeric keys emit sound, and would therefore be useful to someone who is entering a lot of numbers but doesn't want other keys to emit sound as well. I haven't found any software that would have just that.

First of all - amazing app! Cant find typewriter sounds for it though...
As for the issue - is it possible to minimize it to somehow to taskbar instead of system tray? I bet this wont cause sound delays...
As for volume control, sometimes its handy to have the ability to type desired value instead of fiddling wit the slider, or even have 3 presets...

It is not really a bug, but in v2.0.0, fast typing will cause loss of speech, before this did not happen in version 1.4.x.

I installed mechvibes with "sudo snap install mechvibes" (completed).
But when I launch it, the "button" is "loading" and the drop-down list of switchs and keycaps is unable.
How can I fix it?

When on Windows (only tested on Windows 8.1), if you hold down the AltGr key it will play the sound for keypress repeatedly untill you stop pressing the key (unlike the other keys playing it once even if you hold it down).

hello Good sir, i'm over the moon how such a small software by you can bring happiness to me and make using a pc so much more fun. Please consider my request to add the functionality so that the software begins at startup but totally minimized to system tray, the rest is top notch stuff!!

Hello, I wanted to know how I should run it off of the source code.

its not loading help

Downloaded the program and installed it. Works flawlessly everywhere else but simply stops working in visual studio code. Once in visual studio code no sounds are produced. Any one else having the same issue?

Mechvibes is asking for personal login information to Google after downloading a demo pack. Closing via task manager, deleting and reinstalling does not fix the issue.

Really It's a Greate app. when I record my youtube video I can't remove my keyboard sound. If I record audio after screen recording, I cant add keyboard sound. But It's a great app for adding keyboard sound like a system sound in my videos. Thanks for this awesome application.

#One issue I found that with clicking Shift + (others Key), Sometimes It gives double sound.

How to stop it completly

This is more of a feature request.
This app is AMAZING but there is just one thing missing: Seperate sounds for pushing down a key and releasing a key, I feel like this is one of the small things that could make this program a lot more realistic and more pleasant in general.
Please add this feature. Thanks!

Hello, I have been using mechvibes 2.1 for quite some time. as I saw there was an update I downloaded and installed 2.2 but sadly after install it says the app is incompatible with windows or something like that.

Really looking forward to the "start on startup" and "minimize" feature on the new version. I hope this gets fixed with a new update or patch.

I downloaded "Mechvibes.Setup.1.0.2.exe" and didn't run it, but rather unzipped it using 7Zip, then went to the $pluginsdir and unzipped "app-64.7z". From the unzipped sub-folder, I ran "Mechvibes.exe", which appears to run just fine without needing to run the installer.

I'm noticing that my letter U key is the only letter that does not produce a sound.

I also notice that my num-lock numbers do not produce sounds when the num-lock is active (but do produce sounds when num-lock is disabled,. For example Home/PgUp/PgDown on the num-pad produce sounds.

Is is required to run the installer to get full functionality. I'd like to be able to run this a a "portable" app if possible.

There is a delay in sound when you first press a key in a new application window.

Windows 10x64 \ Mechvibes 2.1.1

Not even start.

I downloaded and unzipped custom - man-voice.zip, then launch the portable .exe.

I've tried:

• click on +More->Open Custom Folder. This just launches a new instance of File Explorer pointing to %localappdata%\Temp\randomfoldername. There's no folder/file picker.
• click on +More->Open Editor->Browse custom packs. This doesn't open a folder/file picker either but blinks the Editor on/off briefly.
• click on +More->Open Editor->Editing existing pack: This does open a folder/file picker. I navigate to the extracted custom - man-voice\demo-define-by-file-name\config.json and open it. I don't make any changes since I just want to try the demo pack. I don't export config.json since it already exists, and the custom folder custom - man-voice\demo-define-by-file-name already exists so no folder copying seems to be needed.

If I launch the Editor and go to Help, all the choices there are about Electron.

If the portable version isn't meant to work with custom packs, I'll understand, but I'm not seeing any documentation that describes this limitation.

What am I doing wrong?

Hello developer, I really loved your work. Everything's fine, but the numbers on the numeric pad (on the right side of the typical keyboards) don't make sound. I think it is a limitation of this software. Typical laptop users won't find a issue who don't have a numeric pad on their keyboard. I kindly request the developer of this software to add sounds to the numeric keypad. Then it will be more gorgeous. Thank you.

Hi again! I encountered this issue. It is not that important but still, some people might get annoyed with this on Linux.

Let say if I have music playing in the background, I want to lower the music sound when I'm typing, and when I stop typing the sound will automatically become loud. This behavior is similar to Windows narrator.

I tried to install a custom sound pack, but I was not able to find anything. I tried making a custom folder, but nothing happened. Is there a newer download I need to find?

Yeah it doesn't work when I type on discord. Also there is still the issue that there is a release sound when you hold down the key.

Hello, can you add BIOS keypress sound from Latitude D600 laptop?

I can send you the sound (it used only 1 for every key), but the problem is it behaved a bit differently (if you hold the key, it'd play click sound again and again after ~1 second instead of just playing it 1 time) and it seems impossible to do this in the editor.

Since this app tries to change the sound of your key clicks why not add a feature where if you have a speaker the clicks will go through the speaker making the keyboard sound more realistic then If it were to just go through the headset

After not touching/using the keyboard for about a minute, the sounds become delayed for a moment then go back to normal. Not a major issue, but a little annoying to be honest. This is for MacOS, haven't tried this on windows yet. I'll give an update later.
