Generalised Hyperbolic Stretch Version 2.2.8

This script is designed to run within the Pixinsight Javascript Runtime environment.

Note: if you are running Pixinsight version 1.8.9 or earlier you should not include the file GeneralisedHyperbolicStretch.xsgn in your installation. This file should only be included for versions 1.8.9-1 and later.

The script provides an integrated environment for design, appraisal and application of stretches to astronomical images. Stretching equations available within the script include: Generalised Hyperbolic Equations; Histogram Transformations; and Arcsinh Stretches. The script also provides graphical presentation of the stretch equations, image histogram and a real-time image preview. Image statistics are presented to facilitate the design of appropriate stretches.

A comprehensive walkthrough primer is also available as well as direct access from within the script to a dedicated website including video tutorials.

It can most easily be installed by adding the following repository information in Pixinsight Resources>Updates>Manage Repositories: https://www.ghsastro.co.uk/updates/. The most up to date version will then be downloaded and installed in the usual way of Pixinsight updates when you next start up Pixinsight.

The script can alternatively be installed using the Scripts>Feature scripts... menu option in Pixinsight. The subdirectory containing the html documentation and images subdirectory should be copied to the Pixinsight program file installation. It should be placed as a subdirectory of the Pixinsight>doc>scripts directory.

Since Version 2.2.4 this script has been adapted to use the GHS process module where this is available in the users PixInsight installation. Source code for the GHS process module is available from the GHS-module repository.
